PROCESS SELECTION GUIDE

Evaluate formation & testing equipment

This guide helps prepare comparable requirements. It does not replace a model-specific supplier response or an agreed process trial.

Distinguish cell formation, cell testing and pack inspection

Identify the workpiece and the purpose of the electrical operation. A cell cycling instrument, a formation arrangement and a finished-pack inspection station may have different workflows and ranges. State the required programme and handling context without assuming one cabinet covers all three. Keep cell format, fixtures, communication and downstream result use in the procurement scope.

Compare the complete electrical envelope

Record required voltage and current steps, direction of operation, power and simultaneous channel use. Retain minimum discharge limits and any fixture or cable condition. Multi-range coverage does not imply one uniform accuracy scale. Independent channel programming is a control feature, not proof of a channel count, simultaneous power capability or performance at every proposed operating point.

Read accuracy and recording claims in full

Keep percentage-of-reading and percentage-of-full-scale terms separate and ask which range and calibration conditions apply. Four-wire connections describe an arrangement; they do not replace a measurement accuracy statement. Identify which events must appear in the recorded data and ask whether the stated recording function fits them. Ask separately for pulse performance and sampling rate; an ordinary cycling description does not cover them.

Demonstrate the programme and product-data workflow

Request a representative programme with defined cell or pack connections and inspect its result file. Check identifiers, time fields and the treatment of interrupted work. Clarify fixture, protective settings and communication scope with the supplier and the responsible project team. Use this page to plan the request; the test recipe comes from your cell specification.

Questions to resolve inconsistent catalogue claims

If a heading and table disagree, ask for one dated specification for the exact model. Keep channel count, current or any other conflicting figure open until then. Record the range, power, accuracy basis, accessories and software in the same response. Compare the clarified configuration against the intended test instead of taking the most attractive number from each conflicting source.

Examples on BatteryEquip and what each shows

Laboratory cyclers on BatteryEquip cover very different current ranges: the NEWARE CT-4008Q from 0.5 mA to 6 A, the WinAck WA-BTS-5V5A for cell cycling, and high-current channels in the LAND CT5003AK and the NEBULA 12V300A. The ACEY-BA100200-6 is a regenerative pack tester at up to 100 V and 200 A.

Production formation systems show the factory side: the Hangke negative-pressure formation system for prismatic cells, the Geesun modular formation and grading family, the Repower series formation system and the TMAX heated force-controlled station for pouch cells. Measurement stations sit between them, such as the ACEY-PS8 OCV/IR sorter, the Hangke 46XX DCIR station and the Kejing pouch expansion tester. The cell measurement page explains what OCV, ACIR and DCIR each tell you.
