CT-4008Q-5V6A-S1 Battery Test System
The NEWARE CT-4008Q-5V6A-S1 is an eight-channel battery tester with four current ranges from 0.5 mA to 6 A and a 25 mV–5 V constant-voltage output. It suits coin, pouch and small cylindrical cell work in the lab, including cycling, pulse tests, DCIR and differential-capacity analysis.

CT-4008Q-5V6A-S1: four current ranges and voltage limits
The eight channels split current into four ranges: 0.5–100 mA, 100–500 mA, 500 mA–3 A and 3–6 A. Low-current work is therefore measured on a small range, which is far better than reading it against a single six-ampere full scale. Ask how range switching shows up in a recorded test and which range covers each acceptance point.
Constant-voltage output runs from 25 mV to 5 V. The minimum discharge voltage is listed separately: 1 V with a battery holder and 1.5 V with a two-metre cable. So the lowest output voltage and the five-volt rating in the model name tell you nothing about how low a discharge can go; the connection decides that.
NEWARE lists 10 Hz recording and a 500 ms minimum pulse width. The current response is given as no more than 1 ms in the feature list and less than 1.5 ms in the technical table. Ask NEWARE to confirm the current specification revision and the test condition, and write the confirmed figure into the contract.

Prove the experiment, then trust the mode
The functions listed include cycling, pulse simulation, DCIR and differential-capacity analysis. Ask for a sample programme for your method and the file it produces. Settle step timing, saved-data timing and analysis settings one at a time, because a mode in the menu only gives you the tool; the method gives you the result.
Fix the holder or cable, cell connection and temperature for acceptance. A low-voltage discharge step that works with one connection can fall below the published limit with another. File the connection details with the calibration and trial records.

Record the connection with each calibration point
Base the acceptance record on the connection you will really use. With each reference reading, note the holder or cable, the channel, the current range and the cell temperature. Include points on the low-current range as well as normal cycling, since a check near six amperes says nothing about microamp-level work. Put the reference meter's uncertainty next to each measured difference, which makes comparing the two readings meaningful.
For the planned pulse or cycling programme, judge the exported file, since a live screen can hide gaps. Check step transitions, time stamps and the stated discharge endpoint. Note what happens after an interrupted run and whether the recovered file marks the break. These are the checks to agree with NEWARE as part of your own acceptance plan.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Can the cell reach the planned discharge endpoint? | The page lists 1 V minimum discharge with a holder and 1.5 V with a two-metre cable. | Pick the connection and check the endpoint under load. |
| Which timing statement is contractual? | The feature list says 1 ms or less and the table says under 1.5 ms; recording is 10 Hz. | Ask for the current specification and exported pulse and cycle records. |
Equipment questions
Does 25 mV output mean discharge down to 25 mV?
No. The page lists separate minimum discharge voltages for the holder and the cable. Choose the connection first, then judge whether your discharge endpoint is reachable.
Source s2Is the fastest response figure enough to judge logging?
No. Response, pulse width and recording frequency are three different things. Get NEWARE to confirm which response figure applies, then look at an exported run to check the timing your experiment needs.
