Kejing MSK-110D manual coin-cell disassembly press
The Kejing MSK-110D is a hand-operated hydraulic press for opening coin cells after testing. Standard dies fit the CR20 family (CR2016, CR2025, CR2032); 16, 24 and 30 mm cases need optional or custom dies. It suits labs that recover electrodes and separators for postmortem analysis.

Dies, stroke and size
Kejing lists CR2016, CR2025 and CR2032 for the standard disassembly dies. The 16, 24 and 30 mm families need optional or custom dies. A manual hydraulic jack drives the press, so it needs no electrical or pneumatic supply. The listed stroke is 20 mm, the footprint is about 230×180×330 mm and the weight is 25 kg.
The parameter table shows a 50–60 kg/cm² setting under the packaging heading and an upper figure of 65 kg/cm². These are gauge figures on the jack, which is a different thing from the force reaching the cell. Ask Kejing to state the approved gauge setting and the fixture procedure for the tool you receive, and leave the safety valve as supplied.
| Parameter | Published value | Record status |
|---|---|---|
| Listed manual stroke | 20 mm | known |
| Approximate tool weight | 25 kg | known |
| Listed envelope | 230 × 180 × 330 mm | known |

Getting a usable sample out of the cell
Start by naming the part you need to recover: electrode, separator, electrolyte residue or the case surface. Give the supplier the case construction and the condition of the cells you will open, so Kejing can set an approved preparation and opening procedure. A damaged, charged or otherwise unsuitable cell needs the maker's own handling instructions.
Agree a demonstration on representative cells and set acceptance points for the sample: deformation near the opening, contamination from the tooling, identification of each component, and whether the recovered area is still useful for your planned analysis. Manual stroke control helps, yet a careless stroke can still mark the electrodes. Log the cell and fixture identity and note any damage caused by opening. Later lab findings then cannot be mistaken for manufacturing defects.
Disassembly dies and crimp tooling are ordered separately
Kejing mentions optional crimp tooling for the same press family. A disassembly order therefore comes without a full sealing toolset, and a new seal needs its own qualification. The catalogue photograph carries an MSK-110 family crimp-machine label, so treat it as a picture of the family and confirm the 110D die set in the supply scope.
At handover, expect a list of dies, compatible case sizes, approved operating instructions, gauge checks and hydraulic maintenance. Check the fully assembled dimensions against your glovebox pass-through and working space; a compact press may still be too tall for some enclosures. Kejing publishes no opening rate, sample-damage percentage or cell-analysis result, so base the purchase on a recovery you have watched and a clearly written tool list.
Opened cells usually come off cycling testers; the battery tester page covers their ranges. Postmortem work often studies the SEI formed during the first charge, covered on the formation and capacity grading page. Open cells in dry or inert air, as the electrode drying page explains.
Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Which opening dies are delivered? | The catalogue lists CR2016, CR2025 and CR2032 as standard; 16, 24 and 30 mm families are optional or custom. | Approve the case drawing and a written schedule of disassembly dies. |
| Will the recovered sample still be usable? | The catalogue gives no figures for opening damage or tooling contamination. | Agree recovery and contamination checks on representative cells at the demonstration. |
| Which configuration does the photo show? | The photo carries an MSK-110 family crimp-machine label. | List the actual 110D dies in the signed supply scope. |
