WA-BTS-5V5A Eight-Channel Battery Analyzer

The WinAck WA-BTS-5V5A is an eight-channel cell analyzer for capacity and cycle-life tests, covering 0–5 V and 5 mA–5 A on each channel. Accuracy combines a reading term and a full-scale term, and the timing table gives both a 100 ms interval and a 5 Hz record frequency to clarify for pulse work.

Channels, ranges and the accuracy expression

WinAck lists eight independently controlled channels, each covering 0–5 V and 5 mA–5 A. Voltage and current accuracy are both given as 0.02% of reading plus 0.02% of full scale. At small currents the full-scale part outweighs the reading part, so the error at 5 mA is far larger in relative terms than at 5 A.

The table lists current-response time, recording conditions and record frequency as separate rows. It gives a minimum time interval of 100 ms and a record frequency of 5 Hz. Ask WinAck to explain how those two entries relate and what rate the saved file actually reaches. A quick current response and a fast saved record are two different properties.

The analyzer uses four-wire connections, configurable test steps and spreadsheet or text export. Ask for the software version you will receive, the channel fixtures and an exported sample run on a cell like yours. Check which operating systems the current software supports and the support period on offer.

BUYER NOTES

Start the acceptance run below maximum current

Pick test points that include the lowest current your experiment depends on, along with normal cycling currents. Measure each one against a calibrated reference and note the range and uncertainty used. Then run your planned sequence through its step changes and look at the saved time stamps.

For long unattended tests, cut the power during a run and see whether the analyzer resumes, pauses or waits for an operator. WinAck describes recovery functions; set a written restart policy that suits your experiment and protects the cells.

What the catalogue covers

WinAck's catalogue gives the model name, ranges, accuracy, timing rows and software features of the analyzer. Calibration certificates, the meaning of the record-frequency row and the exact software and fixture package come from the quotation. Project references on WinAck's company pages concern its wider business and say nothing specific about this instrument.

BUYER NOTES

Decide on a low-current trial and an exported timeline

Because the analyzer spans 5 mA–5 A and its accuracy has a reading term and a full-scale term, include the low-current part of your programme in the trial. Ask which range and calibration apply at each test point. A check at maximum current alone leaves the low end untested.

Run your real step changes and open the saved file to read the timestamps directly, rather than relying on the live chart. Settle how the 100 ms interval and the 5 Hz record frequency combine before you set a minimum pulse length. Log the fixture connection and software version so the run can be repeated.

A university thesis that mentions WinAck covers its spot-welding equipment from public descriptions. It contains no measurements, calibration or timing data for this analyzer.

Equipment questions

Why does the full-scale term matter?

It adds a fixed error that does not shrink with the reading, so it dominates at low current. Get the full-scale range and test conditions before comparing low-current results with another instrument.

Does the 100 ms entry mean a 10 Hz saved record?

The same table lists a 5 Hz record frequency. Ask WinAck how trigger conditions control saved records, and check the answer against an exported run.
