PROCESS SELECTION GUIDE

Evaluate cell assembly equipment

This guide helps prepare comparable requirements. It does not replace a model-specific supplier response or an agreed process trial.

Define the operations instead of requesting one generic line

Describe the cell enclosure and list the required operations, such as enclosure handling, joining, filling, sealing or drying. Identify which steps already exist and what each purchased station must deliver to the next operation. A complete assembly proposal and an individual station have different boundaries. This category does not imply that every listed supplier covers the entire sequence.

Identify material handling and environment requirements

Specify how the intended cell or electrode workpiece is presented and transferred. Ask for the environment and utility requirements of the proposed configuration and assign responsibility for providing them. Room conditions, chamber conditions and process acceptance are different subjects. An installation requirement is separate from the process recipe, and one station’s enclosure does not set the environment for the whole line.

Use the workpiece to scope a drying discussion

If drying is part of the purchase, distinguish an electrode roll, electrode sheet and assembled cell. Define loading, batch identification and the measurement used to evaluate moisture. Ask for a trial connecting process records to material samples. Measure final moisture on the workpiece itself; chamber temperature and vacuum do not give it, and ask for the cycle time rather than estimating it.

Agree on station and interface acceptance

List the records and output condition required at each station. Request the proposed fixtures, process monitoring and treatment of interrupted or rejected work. Define which checks can be completed at the supplier and which require the site’s upstream or downstream equipment. Keep acceptance records with the cell design and configuration so that a later format change can be checked against a known baseline.

Questions before buying an integrated arrangement

Ask for the supplied station list, layout, fixtures, utilities, documentation and integration responsibility. Identify the product family and the procedure for changing it. Ask for capacity and cycle time when the catalogue does not give them. Compare the configuration proposed for the actual cell rather than borrowing an output figure from another enclosure or assembly sequence.

Examples on BatteryEquip and what each shows

Drying before filling appears in three forms: batch ovens such as the Times high-vacuum cell oven and the Xinyuren high-vacuum oven, and the Supercom vacuum tunnel furnace for continuous pouch-cell lines. Filling itself ranges from the Kejing single-position vacuum filler for laboratory work to the TOB ZY65 filling and diffusion station and the Gelon weighed pouch filling system, which records the electrolyte mass in each cell.

Closing and checking the cell follows: the Gelon prismatic lid-to-case laser welder, the Hangke sealing-pin welding station, the Hangke helium leak-check station and the Shuangren airtightness machine. For cylindrical cells, the ZHUOTE tabless assembly line shows a complete sequence split around filling. After assembly the cell goes to formation, described on the formation and capacity grading page.
