Kejing 4680 collector-disc and sidewall laser welder

The Kejing MSK-LWG-R1500-CC4680 welds positive and negative collector discs and sidewalls on 4680 cylindrical cells. It pairs a 1500 W fibre laser with a galvanometer head, a monitoring CCD, a chiller and an industrial computer. It suits pilot lines building large-format tabless cells.

Laser source, travels and chiller

The catalogue names a YLPS-1500-W source with about 1500 W output at 1080±10 nm. It runs in continuous, pulse or program mode with 1–100% power adjustment. Beam quality is M²≤1.3, delivered through a 20 µm fibre with a QBH connector. These figures describe the source; spot size and penetration at the part come from the welding trial.

Machine travels are X400/Y300/Z300 mm. The chiller is a CWFL-1500ANPTY rated at ±0.5°C control precision, which refers to the cooling water and says nothing of cell temperature during welding. The monitoring CCD is listed without defect classes or detection figures. Ask for the exact optics, fixture, enclosure and the split of responsibility for bought-in components in the configuration you order.

BUYER NOTES

Disc and sidewall joints may need different patterns

Send the disc and can materials, thicknesses, fits and the weld drawing. State the shielding gas where needed and the tests for continuity, mechanical strength and leak tightness. Kejing describes a small heat-affected zone and deep penetration in words only, with no numbers for joint acceptance.

Trial your own parts and record source mode and power, weld path, focus, shielding and fixture settings. Inspect representative joints by an agreed method, including parts at the edges of your dimensional tolerances. The CCD gives the operator a view of the weld. If you want automatic NG detection or rejection, list it as a separate item in the quotation.

BUYER NOTES

Chiller, gas and laser safety at installation

Total supply is about 6.5 kW on AC220 V, cooling included. Dry air is 0.5–0.8 MPa and an inert gas protects the weld from oxidation. Plan the machine and chiller clearances, ventilation, water and laser guarding with the manufacturer. The source lists door interlocks and a front light curtain; ask for the conformity documents that apply to your site.

At handover, expect optical and fixture calibration, focus checks, chiller maintenance and energy isolation steps. No cycle rate is published, so count accepted joints per full cycle if output matters. Each new collector design needs its own welding trial, and sealing and electrical performance of the finished cell are tested further down the line.

The electrodes for this welder come from the Kejing 4680 laser tab-forming machine, and joint quality should be accepted on sectioned samples, as the FAT and SAT page explains. The QINTIAN laser cutting and winding machine shows an alternative upstream route.
