Gelon pouch electrolyte filling and vacuum-sealing system

Gelon's automatic pouch filling system scans each cell's barcode, weighs it, fills electrolyte, lets it stand, vacuum-seals it and weighs it again before unloading. The two weighings give a per-cell record of electrolyte added. It suits pouch lines that want filling, sealing and a mass check in one sequence, with dose and hold settings agreed per cell design.

Two weighings around the fill

Gelon lists barcode scanning, pre-fill weighing, automatic electrolyte filling, automatic standing, automatic vacuum sealing, post-fill weighing and unloading. Dose range, pump type, scale resolution, dosing accuracy, vacuum level, standing time, pouch sizes and cycle rate are not given, so ask for them before any comparison with other offers.

Specify the pouch opening, tab orientation, gas pocket allowance and cell mass range. Ask the supplier which unit does each step and which values are recorded. Agree the record format, how each value is tied to one cell, what happens when a barcode cannot be read, and whether any database or MES link is included.

BUYER NOTES

Using the mass difference

The gain between the two weighings can check the dose by mass, as long as scale performance, handling losses and reference conditions are under control. Ask for scale range, resolution, calibration method and settling conditions at both stations. If the filler meters volume, agree the density and temperature used to compare it with the measured mass.

Ask how drips, outside contamination, evaporation and material lost during sealing are treated in the pass or fail decision. The mass gain shows how much electrolyte went in; whether it reached every part of the electrode stack is a separate wetting question. Have Gelon show both dose and wetting with your electrolyte and real cells.

BUYER NOTES

Standing time and vacuum seal

The standing step has no listed time, temperature or pressure. Give Gelon your hold requirement and ask how many positions that needs and what it does to sustained output. If you need soaking under pressure cycles, ask for it by name, since the page describes plain standing.

For the vacuum seal, set the pressure reference, seal position, tooling and integrity check, plus electrolyte compatibility and cleaning access. Moisture control, exhaust and the operating environment belong in the installation proposal. During acceptance, interrupt a fill and trigger a mass reject to check safe recovery, part identity and separation of unfinished cells.

Cells should be dried before filling, as the electrode drying page explains.
