ACEY-SSM-C Z-fold electrode sheet stacker
ACEY-SSM-C builds stacked cell cores by Z-folding separator between cathode and anode sheets. The operator loads the sheet magazines; a manipulator picks and places each sheet while servo tension feeds the separator. Sheets from 62 × 46 mm to 200 × 200 mm and stacks up to 30 mm thick are listed.

What the operator does and what the machine does
ACEY describes PLC and touchscreen control, automatic positioning and manipulator pickup once the operator has loaded the sheets. The separator feed uses servo tension control and photoelectric edge correction. The separator roll sits on a 3-inch core with pneumatic clamping, up to 250 mm outside diameter. Ask how sheets are refilled, how the separator is threaded and which steps finish before the stack leaves the station.
Pickup has to suit your coating, sheet stiffness and flatness. Ask ACEY to show adjacent sheets being separated and a missed or double pickup being detected. Brittle or sticky electrodes can crack, shed or cling, so trial them on the machine. Check stop and restart too, so the layer count stays correct after an interrupted cycle.

Tabs, stack thickness and layer count
ACEY's table gives a lamination size from 62 × 46 mm to 200 × 200 mm, measured without tabs. Send a full electrode drawing with tab positions and overhang so the fixture can be approved. Maximum stack thickness is 30 mm, and the controller accepts up to 500 layers. Whichever limit you reach first applies.
Listed neatness is ≤±0.3 mm, with no stated material or measuring method for the finished stack. Specify cathode-to-anode offset, separator overhang and edge condition as separate limits. Inspect finished stacks after removal as well as alignment during placement. Ask for a stack at the layer count you need with your real electrode thickness.

Room conditions and the stacking trial
ACEY lists 25±3°C, humidity of 30–90 RH, and no vibration or electromagnetic interference. That describes a general workshop. Lithium cell assembly is moisture-sensitive, so ask ACEY to confirm that the machine, its materials and its controls work in your dry room or enclosure.
Utilities are AC 220 V ±10%, 50/60 Hz, 0.6 kW and compressed air at 0.5–0.8 MPa; 110 V is a custom option. The machine measures 1100 × 790 × 755 mm and weighs 300 kg. Agree a full-stack trial with your electrodes and separator, layer count, tension recipe and inspection method. ACEY gives no figure for accepted stacks per hour, so time a run that includes refilling the magazines and removing the stack.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Does the full sheet fit? | The page gives 62 × 46 mm to 200 × 200 mm, excluding tabs. | Approve electrode and tab drawings and separator overhang before choosing the fixture. |
| Can the intended layer count be accepted? | The page allows 500 layers and a 30 mm maximum stack thickness. | Trial your full stack and inspect alignment after removal. |
| Is the environment suitable? | The page lists 25±3°C and 30–90 RH. | Confirm operation and handling in your enclosure or dry room. |
Equipment questions
Is this the same operation as stacking prismatic cells into a PACK?
No. SSM-C stacks electrode sheets into a cell core. A module press stacks finished, sealed cells. Cell sealing, electrolyte filling, formation and module assembly come later, on other machines than this stacker.
