ACEY flat-cell double-needle electrode winder
ACEY sells this semi-automatic winder for flat electrode cores in mobile-phone pouch cells. The operator feeds the electrodes and the machine winds them on an adjustable double trapezoid needle. Cores run 40–100 mm wide, 30–100 mm long and 10 mm thick, and winding speed is set on a touchscreen.
Core size and needle tooling
ACEY's table gives a winding range of 40–100 mm width, 30–100 mm length and 10 mm thickness. The needle is a double-insertion trapezoid type, 60 mm wide as standard. Manual adjustment covers 10 mm; anything larger needs a new needle set. Send your core drawing and ask for the release clearances and a needle set for each core size you plan to make.
The guide length is 1000 mm, and the table notes that electrodes may run slightly longer. Ask ACEY for the maximum electrode length it will accept for your design. The page uses both pouch and prismatic terms, so define your wound-core shape in the quote. Rigid prismatic cans may need a different machine.

Tape finishing is described two ways
The feature text describes manual electrode feeding, then automatic winding, needle change, tape wrapping and unloading. The table says automatic tape dispenser with manual tape. Ask ACEY which finishing steps the delivered machine performs on its own. Plan operators and cycle time from a demonstrated sequence.
ACEY also lists automatic film cutting, speed set on the touchscreen, motor-driven tab-position settings and electrode dust removal. Ask how cutting, tab placement and end taping work together on your electrode design, and what happens with a rejected or interrupted winding. For dust removal, ask what extraction hardware comes with the machine and how it is cleaned.

Check alignment and the inside of the wound core
ACEY gives the tension setting as 'within 150g'. The force unit, where it is measured and how closely it is held are not stated, so ask for the force units and the limits for your recipe. ACEY describes winding control with an electronic cam. Check sample cores for loose inner turns, tight outer turns and S-shaped deformation.
The page gives a neatness figure better than 0.5 mm without a measuring method. Run a trial with your own coated electrodes and separator. Inspect offset, separator overhang, tab position, wrinkles and damage when the needle is pulled out. Listed utilities are 1 kW at AC 220 V ±10%, 50/60 Hz, with 110 V as an option, and air at 0.5–0.8 MPa. The machine measures 1300 × 700 × 920 mm and weighs about 360 kg. Time the operator's full cycle to get a real output rate.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Which needle set matches the core? | The standard needle is 60 mm wide with 10 mm of manual adjustment. | Approve needle drawings for each core size and run an extraction trial. |
| Which tape and unload steps are automatic? | The feature text says automatic tape wrapping; the table says automatic dispenser with manual tape. | Watch the delivered sequence and list operator tasks before sizing output. |
| How is tension qualified? | The table lists tension 'within 150g' without a unit convention or control accuracy. | Agree the units and judge winding quality on your own material. |
Equipment questions
Will the station produce a finished pouch battery?
No. It winds the electrode core. Pouch forming, electrolyte filling, sealing and formation are separate steps on other machines. Check the wound core against your downstream cell drawing, and ask for a separate quote if you also need transfer into packaging.
