Kejing MSK-AFA-DS300 double-sided dip/wire-bar coater
The Kejing MSK-AFA-DS300 coats both sides of a web at once by dipping it, meters the layer with wire bars and dries it under infrared. It takes substrates up to 280 mm wide at 0.05–0.75 m/min. It suits labs comparing dip coating with slot-die or transfer coating on the same materials.

Web size, speed, bars and bath
The DS300 runs on 300 mm guide rolls, takes webs as wide as 280 mm and moves them at 0.05–0.75 m/min mechanical speed. Two bars of 10 mm diameter and 300 mm effective length come as standard, with many nominal sizes available. Kejing states that the size number identifies the bar and that the finished thickness depends on the coating settings.
The quoted ±3 µm precision applies to graphite at 1000 mPa·s and 35.5% solids with an 80 µm bar. With another slurry, measure precision afresh; an 80 µm bar also leaves a much thinner dry layer than its name suggests. The standard bath needs at least 0.3 L, and 0.7 L and 2.7 L baths with cooling-water connections are available. Confirm which bath and feed system are in your quotation.

Check both faces and how the wet web is carried
Send the substrate, slurry and required coverage on each side, plus the drying end point you need. Agree the dip path, bar contact, edge condition and how the web is supported without marking the wet layers. Kejing lists steady low-tension transport over a 10–60 N range; confirm the lowest tension your thin foil tolerates.
Trial the chosen bar and bath at a recorded speed. Check both sides for loading and thickness, edge pickup, streaks and handling marks. Set the sampling areas and conditioning before you measure. A new formulation may wet and meter differently from graphite, so adjust the bar or recipe on your own material.
Infrared drying and changing materials
Kejing lists one 0.5 m infrared zone with 2 kW heating up to 150°C and adjustable exhaust. These are heater settings, and the temperature the coating actually reaches comes from your trial. Ask how temperature is sensed and controlled and who handles solvent extraction. A feed system and static removal are optional.
Agree how bath and bars are cleaned, how slurry is recovered and the carryover limit when you switch materials. Rolls go up to 300 mm OD on 3-inch cores; confirm the guiding and rewind layout. Kejing gives two different weights in the catalogue, so ask for a current signed installation schedule. Base acceptance on both finished faces made with your chosen recipe.
Dip coating sets layer thickness differently from slot-die coating, so compare it with the Kejing SD300 on the same slurry before choosing a route for drying and scale-up.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Which bar gives the layer you need? | Kejing states the bar size identifies the tool and thickness depends on coating settings. | Trial your slurry and substrate and measure both faces. |
| Does the graphite precision apply to your slurry? | The catalogue ties ±3 µm to 1000 mPa·s, 35.5% solids and an 80 µm bar. | Set your own precision target and measure it on your material. |
| How is the wet web carried and dried? | The catalogue lists 10–60 N tension and one 0.5 m IR zone at up to 150°C. | Agree handling marks, residence time and drying end point. |
