Kejing MSK-180-LM-R 4680 electrode laser tab-forming machine
The Kejing MSK-180-LM-R forms tabs on 4680 electrode rolls. It unwinds and guides the electrode, flattens raised tabs, cuts one foil side with a fixed laser head, cleans the surface and rewinds. Angled and spaced tab shapes are offered. It suits pilot lines preparing tabless electrodes for large cylindrical cells.

One fixed head cuts one side of the web
Kejing lists a 3-inch unwind shaft, a manual nonmetallic splicing table, web guiding and 20–100 N tension on unwind and rewind. A single fixed laser head cuts named foil and coating zones, tab shapes are adjustable, and the controller stores at least ten recipes. The catalogue gives no laser power, wavelength or cutting speed.
The web guide detects to ±0.1 mm over ≤±25 mm travel with a response of ≤3 ms; that describes the guide, and the tab tolerance itself is set in your trial. Rewind alignment is ≤±0.5 mm. A CCD for named surface defects is optional, so confirm whether your machine has it and what it detects.
| Parameter | Published value | Record status |
|---|---|---|
| Listed web-tension range | 20–100 N | known |
| Guidance detection statement | ±0.1 mm | known |
| Rewind alignment statement | ≤±0.5 mm | known |
Catalogue values apply to the configuration and test method the maker states. Ask for the values that apply to your configuration.

Check the tab and the coating next to it
Send the collector and coating details, any ceramic edge, the incoming foil geometry and the tab pattern you need. Set limits for tab dimensions, burrs, particles, heat-affected zone and coating damage, and agree how each will be measured. Kejing describes a small heat-affected zone and a clean end face without numbers.
Run your own material and record laser, path and tension settings. Inspect angled and spaced tabs, flattened areas and the rewound roll for folds, scratches, coating loss and rewind marks. Include a controlled restart and a splice if you plan to use them in production. A stored recipe is a starting point; a new electrode needs its own trial before you rely on it.
Machine and dust collector both need floor space and power
The table lists about 12 kW on three-phase 380 V for the machine and 5.5 kW for the included dust collector, plus dry compressed air of at least 0.6 MPa. The machine measures about 2730×1090×1950 mm and the extraction unit 1400×1000×2050 mm. Check guarding, laser access and isolation, and duct maintenance on the design you will receive.
Handover should cover recipe changeover, extraction servicing, web guides and an acceptance record made on your material. If throughput matters, measure usable cut-and-rewound metres over the whole process. Confirm the electrode width range you need, since Kejing publishes none, and plan to qualify each electrode design separately.
Formed electrodes go on to a cylindrical winder and then to collector-disc welding on the Kejing 4680 collector-disc welder.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| What laser and rate are included? | The catalogue lists one fixed head but no laser power, wavelength or speed. | Ask for source and recipe details and a measured rate on your material. |
| Is the CCD installed or optional? | The catalogue lists the CCD as an option. | Name the detection in the order and watch it find agreed defects. |
| Does rewind keep the formed tabs intact? | The catalogue gives rewind alignment of ≤±0.5 mm. | Inspect the final roll and a restart and splice sample. |
