Gelon semi-automatic precision electrode cutting machine
Gelon's semi-automatic cutter divides electrode into smaller pieces using upper and lower frames, a driven cutting unit, and feed and unloading devices. It accepts material up to 500 mm wide, cuts pieces at least 3 mm wide and lists ±0.05 mm width accuracy and 1100 W power. It suits pilot and lab cutting, after Gelon confirms the thickness range.
Frames, cutter and feed
Gelon lists upper and lower frames, a cutting unit with its drive, and feeding and unloading devices. Maximum incoming width is 500 mm, minimum cutting width is at least 3 mm and cutting width accuracy is ±0.05 mm. The catalogue title says slitting, but no lane count, rewind, continuous speed or cutting direction is given. Ask for a drawing that shows whether the machine cuts sheets, narrow strips or another shape.
Electrode thickness is listed as 15–350 µm in one row and cutting thickness as 100–350 µm in another. Ask the supplier which range applies before planning thin electrodes. Power is 1100 W, and Gelon builds it for either AC220 V/50 Hz or 110 V/60 Hz mains.
| Parameter | Published value | Record status |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum incoming width | 500 mm | known |
| Listed minimum cutting width | ≥3 mm | known |
| Stated cutting-width accuracy; basis to confirm | ±0.05 mm | known |
| Listed power | 1100 W | known |
Catalogue values apply to the configuration and test method the maker states. Ask for the values that apply to your configuration.

Cutter life and edge limits
Cutter life is given as 5000 m per piece, without saying whether a piece is a blade, one edge or a full tool set, and without the collector, coating, speed or wear limit behind it. Ask Gelon to explain the figure for maintenance planning, and agree how wear is spotted and which changes in cut parts call for a blade change.
The ±0.05 mm width figure needs an inspection datum, sample size and operating condition. Set burr, delamination and particle limits yourself, since none are listed. Test real coated electrodes near the edges of your thickness range.

Feeding, unloading and rejects
Describe the incoming material form, the cut drawing and which steps the operator may do. Hand feeding can shift registration and slow output even when the blade repeats well. Ask for locating aids and a first-off procedure, then watch repeated cuts, material refills and an interrupted feed. Gelon gives no output rate.
Include waste collection, blade change access, guarding and calibration in the scope. Inspect parts after unloading and agree how a bad cut is kept away from good parts. If you are weighing it against a continuous slitter, compare the real process and the cut quality on your material.
Cut sheets are usually stacked next, so the winding throughput page is useful for linking sheet output to finished cells.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Which cutting mechanism is supplied? | The page describes cutting into pieces with no lane or rewind layout. | Approve the feed and blade layout against the part drawing. |
| Can material below 100 µm be cut? | The page lists 15–350 µm electrode thickness and 100–350 µm cutting thickness. | Get a corrected cutting window and trial on your electrode. |
| When is the cutter worn out? | The page lists 5000 m/pc with no tool or reject definition. | Agree wear sampling and replacement criteria. |
