Gelon manually loaded desktop Z-fold electrode stacker

Gelon's desktop stacker folds the separator into a Z automatically while the operator lays each electrode in place with a positioning jig. It counts layers, up to 80, with a manual reset, takes material up to 110 mm wide and lists ±0.5 mm stacking accuracy. It suits laboratory pouch cell builds where hand loading is acceptable.

Hand-placed electrodes, machine-folded separator

Gelon lists adjustable separator tension, automatic Z-fold stacking, a digital counter and push-button cylinders under PLC control. The operator places each electrode by hand, guided by a jig. A new cell size needs a new positioning fixture. Maximum material width is 110 mm, the guide roller is 120 mm wide and the separator core is 3 inches.

Layers can be set up to 80, and stated stacking accuracy is within ±0.5 mm. The unit measures 660 ×580 ×810 mm, weighs about 100 kg and needs air at 0.5–0.8 MPa. Despite the desktop label, plan a strong bench and good reach for that weight and height. Electrical supply, electrode size range and separator roll diameter are not listed.

BUYER NOTES

The counter and the real layer count

Ask what triggers the counter and how a manual reset works if a build is interrupted. The counter records machine motions; whether each placement holds exactly one sheet of the right polarity depends on the operator. Give Gelon your layer sequence and agree the operator checks, plus any sensing the delivered unit really has.

Try the jig on your own sheet size, coating and separator. Ask for the datum behind ±0.5 mm and measure the stack after it leaves the fixture. Agree separator overhang and the finished stack you will accept. Ask separately for the maximum stack thickness, since the layer setting does not give one.

BUYER NOTES

Fixture changes, recovery and installation

List the formats you plan to build and ask which positioning fixtures come with the machine. Have Gelon show a size change with a first-off inspection and the counter set correctly. No cycle rate is given and hand placement sets the pace, so measure output by building repeated good stacks at one layer count.

Agree how a missing, doubled or misplaced sheet is fixed and how an unfinished stack is set aside; Gelon does not claim the machine detects these. Get the bench load, guarding and access, and utility drawing before installation. At handover, operators need a clear loading and reset routine so that a full count always means a full stack.

Gelon's profile lists the automatic stackers that replace this desktop unit when output grows, and the FAT and SAT page explains how to check stack alignment on samples.

What is actually automatic? The page states manual electrode placement with automatic separator motion and counting.Write down the operator sequence for each build.
What does the 80-layer setting count? The page gives no counter trigger, polarity check or thickness limit.Map counting to your build and to recovery of an interrupted stack.
Is the installation suitable for desktop use?The unit weighs about 100 kg and stands 810 mm high.Approve a supported bench, access and utilities layout.
