Gelon hard-die prismatic electrode notching machine

Gelon's automatic notcher cuts positive and negative electrodes for prismatic cells with a hard mould, from material up to 180 mm wide. The catalogue lists ±0.15 mm slicing accuracy, ±0.5 mm positioning and an 8000 ×1900 ×2500 mm footprint. It suits prismatic cell lines feeding stackers, though the thickness range, output figure and power entry need a corrected table from Gelon.

Cutting scope and listed accuracies

Gelon describes hard-mould cutting of prismatic-cell anode and cathode electrodes, with material width up to 180 mm. The table lists positioning accuracy of ±0.5 mm, template flatness of ±0.03 mm, slicing accuracy of ±0.15 mm and material delivery accuracy within 0.5 mm. Each figure refers to a different measurement, so match each one to a dimension on your electrode drawing.

The table gives electrode thickness first as 50–300 µm and later as 0.06–0.3 mm. The upper limits match; the lower limits are 50 and 60 µm. Ask Gelon for one corrected thickness window for your die and coating. The footprint is listed at 8000 ×1900 ×2500 mm; request the full installation drawing.

BUYER NOTES

Get a real rate and power figure

Work efficiency is printed as 140 Points, with no unit of count or time, so you cannot plan electrodes per minute from it. Ask how many pieces one stroke cuts and how loading, waste removal and die changes affect sustained good output. Gelon shows no rate on a buyer electrode.

Power is printed as 150 kW. The same number appears on Gelon's stacking machine table, which suggests a copying error. Ask for a signed utility specification with installed load, running demand and auxiliary supplies, and size the electrical supply from that document.

BUYER NOTES

Prove the die on coated electrode

Send the electrode outline, the tab or uncoated area, the collector material and the coating on each side. Agree which drawing dimension each listed accuracy controls and how finished parts are measured. Die flatness is one input; tab position and edge condition must be measured on cut parts.

Gelon lists no burr height, delamination or particle limit. Set them from your stacking or assembly needs and test real material over the planned die maintenance interval. Ask how waste is collected and how polarity and part identity are kept at unloading. A witnessed run should sample parts from every die position, at the start and after an agreed amount of use.

Gelon's profile lists the stackers that receive these sheets.

Still to confirm

  • The correct lower thickness limit, since the table lists both 50 µm and 60 µm.
  • What 140 Points means as a rate, and electrodes per minute on your part.
  • The real installed and running power in place of the 150 kW entry.
  • Burr, delamination and particle limits Gelon will accept, and the die life on your electrode.
