Gelon GN-HS200 single-station pouch top/side sealer
The Gelon GN-HS200 is a desktop single-station sealer for the top and side seals of pouch cells. Its upper and lower heads have separate temperature control, the head is 200 mm long with a 5 mm standard seal, and it takes cells up to 180 ×180 ×10 mm with tabs to 0.15 mm. It suits laboratory and pilot pouch cell work.

Soft and hard heads use different temperatures
Gelon recommends 200–230°C for soft sealing and 170–190°C for hard sealing. Ask for the head specification to see how the soft and hard tooling are actually built. Upper and lower temperatures are set separately, and the recommended dwell is 3–6 seconds within a 0–99 second range.
The tab limit is 0.15 mm and the tab tape limit 0.1 mm; thicker builds need a custom setup. Seal thickness is at most 0.5 mm, the head is 200 mm long and the standard seal width is 5 mm. The largest cell, gas bag and tabs included, is 180 ×180 ×10 mm. Check each limit against your drawing on its own. Automatic and manual modes refer to the sealing cycle; the operator still loads every cell.

Measure heat and force at the seal
Send the pouch laminate, tab and tape materials, the seal outline and the geometry you allow. Ask how head temperature is measured and how force and parallelism are checked at your film thickness. Gelon describes good head parallelism and stable sealing in general terms, with no figures for uniformity, force or seal strength.
Qualify the top and side seals one by one if their layers differ. Inspect the whole seal and set strength, leak or insulation checks to be done on other equipment, since this unit has no test station. Start from Gelon's recommended temperatures and settle the final recipe in a trial on your laminate.

Loading, glovebox fit and services
Gelon lists argon or nitrogen at 0.5–0.8 MPa inside a glovebox, or compressed air outside one, a choice of AC220 V/50 Hz or AC110 V/60 Hz, and 1800 W. The unit measures about 392 ×358 ×321 mm and weighs 38 kg. In a glovebox, allow room for head access, fixture handling and maintenance as well as the body.
Write out the loading, the turn from top to side seal and the unloading, then watch repeated seals and an interrupted part. Gelon gives no cycle rate. At handover, record the head type, fixture, calibrated settings and first-off check for your laminate and tab. Vacuum sealing and electrical testing are done on other machines.
Sealed pouches go on to filling and formation; the formation and capacity grading page explains why the gas pocket is left open until after formation, and the acceptance testing page covers seal checks. Filling usually happens next on a machine such as the Gelon four-station pouch filling machine.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Which soft/hard head is actually delivered? | The page lists different recommended temperatures for soft and hard sealing. | Approve the head construction and qualify the film and tab recipe. |
| Does the full cell fit every dimensional condition? | The page lists tab, tape, seal and overall size limits separately. | Check the complete drawing against the offered fixture and head. |
| What remains operator work? | The page offers automatic and manual modes on one station. | Witness loading, repositioning, unloading and recovery after an interruption. |
