Gelon dual-station production stacker with sheet-fault detection
Gelon's dual-station production stacker checks each sheet with ultrasonic double-sheet sensors and fibre-optic corner and tab sensors, stopping on a fault. It aligns sheets by CCD, drives the table with linear motors and controls separator unwind, tension and static. Gelon lists 0.3 s per sheet for the whole machine, which places it in volume pouch and prismatic cell production.
Sensors, separator handling and dust collection
The separator path has active unwind, tension control, EPC and static elimination. Ultrasonic sensors catch double or missing sheets, and fibre-optic sensors look at all four corners and the tabs for missing or bent features. A failed sheet triggers an alarm and a stop. Dust is collected at the magazines, the stacking table and the pickup points. The stack is finished with one outer separator layer and no tail winding, so check that this finish suits your cell design.
Gelon lists single-station speed of no more than 0.6 s/piece, a whole-machine interval of 0.3 s/sheet and auxiliary time of no more than 12 s. Layer count can be set within a thickness range that is not stated. To get cells per minute, ask how the two stations, the separator finish and unloading add up for your full build.

Machine accuracy and finished-stack accuracy
Machine figures include 5-megapixel camera pixel accuracy within 0.05 mm, CCD positioning of ±0.1 mm, linear motor repeatability of ±0.02 mm and a speed of 3 m/s. The finished stack figures are electrode to separator centre deviation of ±0.2 mm, adjacent electrodes ±0.2 mm, overall electrodes ±0.3 mm and separator end-face alignment ±0.4 mm. Write the stack figures into your specification, each with its own datum and inspection method.
EPC is listed at 0.3 mm, static voltage at no more than 300 V, and tape cutting and positioning at ±1 mm each. Agree where these are measured and how a fault affects output. Feed in defective sheets that match your real faults, including defects away from the corners, and record the false reject rate, which Gelon does not publish.

Site utilities and a full production run
Gelon lists air at 0.5–0.7 MPa and 800 L/min, dry vacuum at −70 kPa and 400 L/min, and AC380 V three-phase ±10%, 50 Hz, 12 kW. The machine measures 2150 ×4500 ×2400 mm, weighs about 5500 kg and needs a floor rated above 650 kg/m². Ask for the pressure references, the conditions behind the consumption figures and a foundation drawing.
The operating environment is 5–35°C at 5–55% relative humidity, free of conductive dust and of strong vibration or fields. Run the machine for a long period at your layer count with box refills, faults and restarts. Inspect stacks after taping and unloading, and report output as good finished stacks per hour.
Gelon's profile lists the pilot stackers used before scaling to this machine, and the acceptance testing page explains how to verify sheet-fault detection during a factory test.
Sheets for it come from a notcher such as the Gelon hard-die prismatic notcher.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Will the sensor set detect the required sheet faults? | The page names ultrasonic and corner and tab sensors with alarm and stop. | Trial known defects and record alarms, stops and false rejects. |
| Which accuracy is relevant to the finished cell stack? | The page lists camera, CCD, motor and stack figures side by side. | Use the final-stack datums after unloading. |
| What is sustained completed-stack output? | The page gives 0.3 s/sheet and up to 12 s auxiliary time. | Measure accepted stacks with your layer count and box refills. |
