Gelon double-station CCD electrode stacking machine
Gelon's double-station stacker takes anode and cathode sheets from conveyed boxes, aligns each on a CCD platform and lays them on a reciprocating table while the separator unwinds under tension control. Two pressing tools hold the stack and a robot moves it to taping. It suits prismatic and pouch cell lines, though two table entries need a corrected specification from Gelon.
How sheets, separator and stacks move
An automatic conveyor brings in the electrode boxes. Suction cups pick positive and negative sheets, set them on a CCD platform for positioning, then place them on the stacking table. A motor unwinds the separator through correction and tension units while the table shuttles between left and right stations. Two pressing tools hold the stack down. A robot lifts the finished stack, the separator is cut, and the stack goes to an adhesive station and a delivery tray. The separator tail is then set up for the next stack.
Gelon lists a separator roll outer diameter of 250 mm, correction travel of ±15 mm and fixture width adjustment of ±5 mm. The ±5 mm figure is a fixture adjustment, so ask separately for the electrode width range. The cabinet measures 3737 ×1900 ×2500 mm. Electrode sizes, layer counts and separator properties are not given.
| Parameter | Published value | Record status |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum separator roll outer diameter | 250 mm | known |
| Correction travel | ±15 mm | known |
| Stated electrode/separator central deviation | ±0.5 mm | known |
| Listed equipment dimensions | 3737 ×1900 ×2500 mm | known |
Catalogue values apply to the configuration and test method the maker states. Ask for the values that apply to your configuration.

Two table entries to correct
Electrode to separator centre deviation is ±0.5 mm, separator alignment ±0.3 mm and overall electrode alignment within 0.5 mm. Agree a reference point, sampling method and stack state for each. The adjacent electrode alignment entry reads 140 Points, which is not a length tolerance, so ask Gelon for the correct figure.
Capacity reads 5 seconds per piece with no layer count and no definition of a piece, so you cannot turn it into stacks per minute yet. The 150 kW power entry also needs a signed electrical schedule; the same number appears on Gelon's notching page. Ask for the real load before you size the supply.

Measure the stack once it is taped and unloaded
Send coated sheets and separator that show real edge condition, plus the expected stack thickness. Ask how the CCD finds the sheet datum and what happens on a double pick, a missing sheet or a shifted separator, since detection functions and numbers are not listed.
Check finished stacks after the robot lifts them and the adhesive goes on, because handling can move the alignment set on the table. Fix separator overhang, polarity order, layer count and allowed compression on the cell drawing. A witnessed run should include tray changes, tail setup and a stack stopped partway. Count good stacks per hour at your layer count.
Sheets for this stacker come from a notcher such as the Gelon hard-die prismatic notcher.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Which alignment value applies to the finished stack? | The table lists several alignment figures, and the adjacent electrode entry reads 140 Points. | Approve corrected tolerances and inspect after unloading. |
| What is counted in the 5-second cycle? | The table gives 5 seconds per piece without a layer count. | Time complete accepted stacks for your build. |
| Is the listed electrical load reliable? | The table prints 150 kW with no utility schedule. | Get a signed load schedule before planning the supply. |
