AOT ESC-500 electrode roll-to-sheet crosscutter

The AOT ESC-500 cuts continuous or intermittently coated electrode rolls into sheets. It takes electrodes up to 500 mm wide, sets cut lengths from 1 to 20000 mm, and uses servo feed rollers, a pneumatic cutter and colour-mark tracking, at up to 4000 cuts per hour.

Crosscutting with your roll and coated pattern

AOT specifies a maximum electrode width of 500 mm and a cut length selectable from 1 to 20000 mm. The roll unwinds under tension, servo rollers feed it, a pneumatic mechanism cuts it, and a PLC touchscreen runs the sequence. Send AOT your roll, sheet drawing and collection layout so it can show how very long and very short sheets are supported and stacked without damage.

Optical colour-code tracking is offered for intermittent coating. Agree the mark or coated-gap edge the sensor reads, the electrode orientation, and the allowed distance between cut and coating. For continuous coating, agree how length is referenced. The ESC-500 cuts across the web; longitudinal slitting, tab notching and cell assembly are separate machines in the electrode line.

BUYER NOTES

Accuracy and output at your sheet length

The catalogue gives fixed-length accuracy of ±0.3 mm, with ±0.1 mm as the best case, and position accuracy of ±0.3 mm. It names no material, feed length, speed or measuring method for the best figure. Agree a sample size and measuring method for your foil, coating and sheet length, and write the tolerance you need into the order.

Speed is listed as 0–4000 cuts per hour. Long sheets, mark searching, web settling and piece collection all add time. The machine counts automatically and stops at a preset quantity. Time a complete run in the demonstration and count only good sheets that pass length, alignment and edge checks, together with the scrap rate.

BUYER NOTES

Edge quality, blades and utilities

AOT describes the cut as burr-free with no powder shedding, without a test method or limit. Set your limits for metal burr, coating delamination and loose particles, then inspect cut edges from real coated electrodes by an agreed method. Ask for the blade material, change interval, cleaning routine and any dust extraction needed.

Power is 220 V, 50 Hz and a maximum of 1500 W. The cutter is driven by a pneumatic cylinder, and the page lists no air pressure or consumption, so request both. The machine measures 1000 × 1100 × 1000 mm and weighs 350 kg. Add room for unwinding, sheet discharge support and operator access on the layout.

Cut sheets usually move on to stacking or winding. The winding throughput page shows how sheets per minute turn into finished cells.
