ADX-BHW-30A custom walk-in temperature test room
The Andxin ADX-BHW-30A is a custom-sized, water-cooled walk-in temperature test room. The catalogue lists −40°C to ambient, ±0.5°C fluctuation and empty-room transition times. It suits project-specific temperature soaking of cells or packs once Andxin confirms in writing which battery samples and operating modes the room is built for.

What the ADX-BHW-30A table lists
Andxin lists the ADX-BHW-30A with internal and external dimensions built to order. The room has forced internal circulation, a SUS304 interior, 100 mm insulated panels, a double door with viewing windows and water-cooled refrigeration. The temperature range for this model is −40°C to ambient. A separate battery application article quotes a wider range for other projects; quote this room on its own table.
Fluctuation is ±0.5°C and uniformity is within ±3°C. These figures apply at an ambient of 20±5°C, relative humidity ≤85%, with the room empty and stable. Ask where the sensors sit and how each figure is defined, and plan a loaded test to see how the room behaves with your fixtures inside.
| Parameter | Published value | Record status |
|---|---|---|
| Listed temperature range | −40°C to ambient | known |
| Published empty-room temperature fluctuation | ±0.5 °C | known |
| Published empty-room uniformity | Within ±3 °C | known |
| Listed installed capacity | 50 kW | known |
| Panel insulation thickness | 100 mm | known |
| Described data interface | RS-232 | known |
Catalogue values apply to the configuration and test method the maker states. Ask for the values that apply to your configuration.

Empty-room transition times and a loaded acceptance test
The catalogue gives about 60 minutes to pull down from 20°C to −40°C and about 40 minutes to return from −40°C to ambient, both with no load. Fixtures, sample mass, blocked airflow and heat from the samples all slow that response. Send your loading layout and ask for a loaded temperature profile with a clear stabilisation criterion.
Battery work comes in three kinds: a plain temperature soak, charging and discharging inside the room, and abuse testing. The room listing has no channel schedule, no cell-energy limit and no described battery-event protection system. Ask Andxin to state in writing which samples and operating modes the configured room permits, based on the delivered build.
Cooling, floor support and data output for the custom room
The table lists 50 kW total installed capacity and water cooling. Because each room is sized to order, request the full electrical supply and cooling-water design for your size: water flow, pressure, quality and heat rejection. Check door access, the route samples take in, support-point loads and service clearance on an approved installation drawing.
Andxin describes a floor capacity of at least 200 kg/m² and a raised floor of about 150 mm. Work out the real load at each fixture and support point, since an average sample mass can hide heavy spots. An RS-232 port handles reports and data output. Ask for the protocol, logging intervals, sensor labels and integration scope, so you know how it will talk to a charge/discharge tester or your own database.
Andxin's profile covers its wider range of environmental test equipment. A room like this holds cells or packs at temperature while a cycler such as the LAND CT5003AK runs the test programme, so plan the two together; the battery tester page covers the cycler side. Put loaded transition times into the quotation as set out in the guide to writing an RFQ, then measure them during the acceptance test on the acceptance testing page.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| What temperature and loading are being accepted? | The table gives −40°C to ambient and transition times measured with the room empty. | Agree a loaded profile and the sampling and stabilisation method. |
| Are the samples and operating mode permitted? | The room listing gives no battery sample limits or event protection; a separate article covers custom battery projects. | Get the permitted sample and energy scope and the protections for your build in writing. |
| What must the site provide? | The room is sized to order, with 50 kW installed and water cooling listed. | Approve the electrical, cooling-water, access and support-point drawings. |
| What data can be integrated? | The table lists an RS-232 port for reports and data output. | Ask for a demonstration of the protocol and logged fields with your own system. |
Equipment questions
Does an explosion-protected lamp make the room battery-safe?
No. The lamp covers lighting only. Room-level pressure relief, gas management, fire containment and response to a cell event are separate systems. Some other Andxin models carry written bans on certain samples. Request the protection specification and permitted-use document for this exact configured room.
