XJB-500 dual-shaft vacuum slurry mixer
The TOB-XJB-500 is a bench mixer for small batches of electrode slurry. It stirs with two shafts in a closed 500 ml stainless-steel vessel under vacuum, up to 1,000 rpm, with a programmable 0–600 minute timer and a built-in pump. It suits labs developing slurry recipes before moving to larger mixers.

Vessel, speed, timer and vacuum
TOB lists a 500 ml stainless-steel vacuum vessel, a top stirring speed of 1,000 rpm, a programmable mixing time of 0–600 minutes and 200 W power. The built-in pump reaches −0.08 MPa. Supply is 220 V, 50 Hz, with 110 V, 60 Hz as an option.
The usable slurry batch will be smaller than the 500 ml vessel once headspace, the impeller layout and the slurry's flow behaviour are taken into account. Ask TOB for a working volume and mass for your formulation. The recipes on TOB's page are starting suggestions to adapt to your powder and binder.

Test dispersion on your formulation
Give the supplier your solvent system, solids fraction, powder properties and viscosity method. Ask which wetted parts and seals touch the slurry. Speed alone tells you little about dispersion, because impeller shape, fill level and mixing stages all play a part.
Compare samples taken from set positions or times in the batch using the same inspection method. Record agglomerates, trapped gas and viscosity together. A smooth surface is a good sign, and a measured check confirms that every ingredient is evenly spread.

Keep a repeatable recipe and a cleaning record
During a demonstration, record the speed and time settings, actual load, vacuum trace and slurry temperature. Repeat the same formulation and check that your measured results stay within an agreed range.
Before switching chemistries, check access to the vessel and impellers, approved cleaning agents and how residue is checked. TOB describes contamination-free mixing and identical mixing energy; confirm both in your own trial.
Slurry from a mixer this size usually goes onto a lab coater such as the TOB JYCM-800, and the guide to writing an RFQ explains how to request speed, vacuum and temperature records.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| What is the usable slurry load? | The catalogue gives 500 ml as vessel capacity. | Ask for a demonstrated working volume and mass at your solids and viscosity. |
| Are the seals and exhaust right for your solvent? | The catalogue lists a stainless-steel vessel and −0.08 MPa pump with no seal or exhaust details. | Get a wetted-parts list and the pump and exhaust layout for your solvent. |
| How will you show the mix is repeatable? | The catalogue offers example recipes for other materials. | Compare repeat batches with logged settings, dispersion checks and a set viscosity method. |
Equipment questions
Can I copy the bench recipe straight into a production mixer?
Not directly. The table covers speed, vessel and controls for this bench machine. Shear, heat removal and mixing energy change in a larger mixer, so keep the bench recipe as your starting data and plan a separate scale-up method.
