JS100L-LX heated laboratory roll-to-roll calender
The TOB-JS100L-LX is a compact heated roll press for lab electrodes, with two 96 mm rolls heated up to 130°C and a 0–2 mm gap. The model table gives 100 mm cold and 80 mm hot pressing width, while the introduction says 200 mm and 180 mm. Pressure display is an option. It suits labs densifying small electrode samples.

Confirm the pressing width first
The introduction on TOB's page gives 200 mm cold and 180 mm hot pressing widths. The TOB-JS100L-LX table gives 100 mm cold and 80 mm hot, with two rollers of 96 mm diameter. Ask TOB to confirm the usable width for the rollers in your quotation before you rely on either pair of figures.
The table lists roll temperature from room temperature to 130°C, a pressing-thickness setting of 0–2 mm and working speed of 0–40 mm/s. Power is 800 W and the machine measures about 800 × 700 × 350 mm. Ask for a drawing of the configuration you will receive and check these settings in a trial.
| Parameter | Published value | Record status |
|---|---|---|
| Roller diameter, model table | 96 mm | known |
| Roll temperature, catalogue | RT to 130 °C | known |
| Pressing-thickness setting | 0–2 mm | known |
| Working speed | 0–40 mm/s | known |
| Electrical power | 800 W | known |
Catalogue values apply to the configuration and test method the maker states. Ask for the values that apply to your configuration.

Order pressure display if you need it
TOB notes that its standard quotation leaves out real-time pressure display unless you request it. If your lab records need force or pressure, ask which sensor is supplied, where it measures and how its reading relates to the force at the nip.
Roll gap, displayed pressure and final electrode thickness are three different quantities. Measure incoming and outgoing thickness and record the method, rather than reading the result off a gap setting.

Trial at your target temperature
Use your own electrode coating and current collector to check adhesion, density and damage after pressing. Record upper and lower roll temperature if shown, material speed, gap setting and web handling. Inspect across the usable width and along the pressed sample.
If roll-to-roll handling is part of the order, check core sizes, unwind and rewind limits and how tension is controlled. This is a compact lab press, so ask exactly which web-control parts come with it.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| What is the usable width? | The page gives 200/180 mm in the introduction and 100/80 mm in the model table. | Get a dated JS100L-LX drawing with cold and heated usable widths. |
| Do you need pressure readings? | The standard quotation leaves out real-time pressure display unless requested. | List the sensor, what it reads and its calibration record if you need pressure data. |
| Does the pressed electrode hit target? | The catalogue gives gap and temperature settings with no density or adhesion results. | Press your electrode and measure the finished web at agreed positions. |
Equipment questions
Which width should I buy against?
Use the figure TOB confirms on a dated drawing for the rollers it quotes. Ask for cold and heated usable widths separately, and attach them to your enquiry and trial record.
