Dry-electrode adhesive coating and lamination line
This TOB line laminates ready-made dry electrode film onto current-collector foil. It coats conductive adhesive onto the foil by micro-gravure, dries it in a 1 m oven, then presses the film on between heated rollers. Rolling width is 110–320 mm at up to 20 m/min. It suits pilot lines developing the dry-electrode process.
Adhesive coating, drying and heated rolling
TOB describes micro-gravure coating and electric drying in a 1 m oven with a 6 kW heater. Effective rolling width is 110–320 mm, line speed is set from 0–20 m/min and the automatic gap from 0–2 mm. Thermal oil heats the rollers from room temperature to 130°C. Each of these is a separate setting; finished electrode thickness has to be measured on the laminate.
The installation list calls for three-phase 380 V, 50 Hz power, a 30 kW total supply plus a 10% margin, and a prepared foundation. Size the electrical connection from the 30 kW figure, since the 6 kW heater is only part of the load. Ask for the machine layout and utility schedule with the quotation.

Dry film, wet adhesive
TOB states that the dry electrode film is laminated after conductive adhesive has been applied and oven-dried. It does not name the adhesive or its solvent content. So while the film itself is made without solvent, the adhesive step may still use one.
Specify the adhesive, its coat weight, the residual content allowed and the exhaust needed. Ask how the foil and both electrode-film webs are supported and aligned. Powder preparation, binder fibrillation and forming the free-standing film all happen before this line and need their own machines and process data.

Test the bond and the electrode together
Run the trial with representative film and foil rolls and your chosen adhesive. Agree targets for coat-weight uniformity, dryness, alignment and an adhesion test after lamination. Check for voids, cracks, foil distortion and layer thickness across the web. Adhesion and electrical contact are separate properties, so name a test for each.
Record oven settings, actual roller temperature, pressure and speed. Include start-up and a stop and restart, and inspect the material that saw a different heat history. Confirm what is supplied for the thermal-oil heater, cooling, web tension and exhaust. TOB publishes no bond strength or electrical resistance figure, so both come from the trial on your film and adhesive after drying.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Where does the supplied line start? | The catalogue describes laminating film that is already formed. | Quote powder and film preparation separately from coating and lamination. |
| Is adhesive drying defined? | The catalogue lists adhesive coating and a 1 m oven but no chemistry or exhaust. | Specify adhesive, residual-content limit and exhaust needs. |
| Which installation power applies? | The catalogue lists a 6 kW heater and a 30 kW site supply plus 10%. | Get the full utility schedule, including thermal oil, air, cooling and exhaust. |
Equipment questions
Will it laminate 320 mm at 20 m/min?
TOB lists width and speed as separate maximums and shows no run with your material at both together while meeting bond, drying and thickness targets. Choose your operating point and write its acceptance tests into the order.
