TMAX programmable 500 ml dual-shaft vacuum slurry mixer

This TMAX bench mixer prepares small batches of electrode slurry and ceramic paste in a 500 ml tank. Two shafts with spiral paddles turn at up to 600 rpm, a three-stage program runs for up to 600 minutes, and a built-in pump pulls vacuum to a −0.08 MPa reading. It weighs 35 kg and suits laboratory formulation work.

Tank size and how much you can actually mix

TMAX lists a 500 ml tank with two shafts carrying spiral paddles. This listing gives a top speed of 600 rpm, which is the figure to plan around for this mixer. Other tank sizes are offered as options; ask for the part specification of the tank you order.

The tank volume is larger than the useful batch. Ask TMAX for minimum and maximum fill, paddle clearance and the viscosity range that suits your tank. In a small batch, paste left on the wall and blades can shift both yield and composition. Agree how powder goes in, how it is wetted and how slurry comes out, and how the operator keeps additions even and avoids trapping air.

BUYER NOTES

Programming the three stages and running vacuum

The controller holds three stages with times from 0–600 minutes. Ask which values can be set for each stage, how the mixer moves from one stage to the next and what it does after a power cut or stop. Log the order of additions and any hand steps with the speed and time so the recipe can be repeated.

The built-in vacuum pump shows a −0.08 MPa reading. Ask TMAX whether that is gauge pressure and where it is measured before you set a vacuum target. Also ask about the vacuum sequence, protection against foam and carryover, leak checks and safe handling of volatile solvents. Measure the gas left in your slurry to judge how well degassing works.

BUYER NOTES

Trial targets for usable slurry

The mixer draws 200 W at 220 V, with other voltages to order. It measures 330 × 320 × 570 mm and weighs 35 kg. Check bench space and the clearance needed to open the lid and lift out the tank. Easy cleaning and removable parts matter when the lab switches binder, active material or conductive additive.

For acceptance, set the formulation, batch size and temperature limits. Measure viscosity by a stated method, solids spread, visible lumps, trapped gas and the amount recovered. If coating comes next, check how the slurry coats as well. Heat rise, dispersion quality and contamination for your material come from this trial, so agree the numbers with TMAX up front.

TMAX's profile lists the laboratory coaters that typically receive this slurry, and the RFQ guide shows how to ask for the programme and vacuum records.

Equipment questions

Can a laboratory recipe be transferred directly to a larger mixer?

Not directly. A bigger vessel changes the flow pattern, paddle shape, heat transfer and useful fill. Keep the small-batch recipe and the measured slurry results as your reference, then tune the larger mixer against them by testing, adjusting rpm and time as the results require.
