TMAX-JR135 operator-loaded cylindrical cell winder
TMAX-JR135 is an operator-loaded winder for cylindrical cell jelly rolls. A powered shaft turns at 0–170 rpm in either direction, and the listed 4 mm mandrel covers 18650, 26650, 32650 and 21700 cells from 10–150 mm high. It suits laboratory and small-batch winding where an operator places the electrodes and separator.

What the operator does and what the shaft does
TMAX lists forward and reverse winding at 0–170 rpm and cell heights of 10–150 mm, with custom heights available. The title calls it manual and the table calls it semi-automatic. Ask for the full operating sequence: placing electrodes and separator, starting the shaft, fixing the end and pulling off the roll. Electrode feeding, tab placement and tension setting are operator tasks unless TMAX quotes them as automated.
Power is 1000 W at 110/220 V and 50/60 Hz. The machine measures 1000 × 380 × 250 mm and weighs 30 kg. Confirm the supply for your country and the guarding around the shaft. Ask TMAX for a written procedure for the reverse function so operators use it the intended way.

Mandrels for each cell format, including 4680
The table describes a 4 mm outside-diameter, 90 mm-long shaft for 18650, 26650, 32650 and 21700 cells. The headline adds 4680, AA and AAA. Each format needs its own shaft length, release method and electrode path. Ask TMAX for a tooling schedule covering every format you plan to wind, and for a 4680 trial if that size matters to you.
A square mandrel for pouch work is offered as an option. If you plan pouch rolls, ask which pouch designs it supports on this base machine. For either shape, give TMAX the core size, finished roll size, tab positions and handling tolerances before tooling is made.

Judge the finished roll as well as the speed
TMAX quotes 70–100 pieces per hour. The page does not say which format, which operator steps, how long loading takes or what counts as a good roll. Run a timed trial covering loading, winding, end fixing and removal, and count good rolls alongside cycle time.
Send TMAX real coated electrodes and separator, including fragile edges and your expected width tolerance. Inspect separator overhang, electrode offset, telescoping, wrinkles, tab clearance and damage when the roll comes off the mandrel. Ask how tension is set and measured, and which settings depend on the operator. Faster rotation can bring more handling and alignment faults, so tune for good rolls first and speed second.
TMAX's profile lists the crimpers and mixers used around this winder, and the guide to writing an RFQ explains how to request electrode length and core size in the quotation.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Does the supplied mandrel match the cell? | The 4 mm shaft is listed for 18650, 26650, 32650 and 21700; the headline also names 4680, AA and AAA. | Approve a tooling drawing for your format and watch a roll-removal trial. |
| Which tasks are operator dependent? | The title says manual and the table says semi-automatic. | See loading, tension setting, tab handling and removal on video or in a trial. |
| What output can be accepted? | The page gives 70–100 pieces per hour with no format or conditions. | Time the whole routine and count rolls that pass inspection. |
Equipment questions
Is this an automatic cylindrical cell assembly line?
No. The page covers winding only. Roll loading, electrode cutting, tab welding, inspection and can insertion would need their own equipment and quotes. Ask TMAX to show how electrodes are handled and which tooling comes with this station.
