TMAX-JK-TMJ-200 heated sheet doctor-blade coater

TMAX-JK-TMJ-200 is a bench doctor-blade coater for single electrode sheets. A vacuum plate holds the foil, a 100 mm micrometer blade travels at 0–120 mm/s, and a heated cover dries the film at up to 200°C. It suits small laboratory electrode and film trials on sheets up to 100 × 250 mm.

Vacuum plate, micrometer blade and a moving applicator

TMAX lists an aluminium-alloy vacuum board of 365 × 200 × 30 mm, an oilless vacuum pump in the box and a 100 mm adjustable micrometer blade. Vacuum holds the foil flat while a drive pulls the applicator across it. Blade travel runs from 0–120 mm/s with stepless adjustment, which sets how fast each sheet is coated.

Work out a routine for cleaning the sheet, laying it down, dosing the slurry, running the blade and moving the wet sheet to drying. Ask TMAX how your foil thickness and flatness affect hold-down at the edges. Good hold-down keeps the sheet still; adhesion, edge coverage and dry loading then come from your slurry and settings, so check them in your trials.

BUYER NOTES

Pick the blade width and coating area you need

The table gives a largest coating size of 100 × 250 mm and says a similar type reaches 250 × 300 mm. The blade entry also mentions up to 250 mm, while the blade in the box is 100 mm. The standard coating width is therefore 100 mm. If you need wider sheets, ask for the drawing and accessory list of the larger build.

The blade gap adjusts from 0–6 mm. That is the mechanical opening under the blade. The dry film you get depends on viscosity, solids, wetting, blade shape and shrinkage as it dries. Measure wet and dry loading on your own formulation to find the gap that gives your target film.

BUYER NOTES

The heated cover and drying your solvent

The cover runs from room temperature to 200°C with ±1°C digital control. Temperature spread across a wet film, the point at which solvent is gone, and the exhaust for your solvent all depend on your setup. Tell TMAX the formulation and solvent, and plan ventilation and handling for it before using the cover as your drying step.

Power is AC 220/110 V at 50 Hz and 650 W. The machine weighs about 60 kg and takes 550 × 330 × 320 mm of bench. Choose the voltage option, check the bench can carry it and leave room to lift the cover and move wet sheets. Agree an acceptance trial that reports loading spread, film defects and residual solvent, measured the same way each time.

What width is included? The supplied blade is 100 mm; the page also mentions 250 mm and a 250 × 300 mm similar type.Write the blade width, coating area and configuration into the quote.
How will film quality be accepted? The blade gap adjusts from 0–6 mm; the page gives no dry-film thickness.Agree loading, uniformity and defect limits measured on your slurry and foil.
Is the drying arrangement suitable? The cover heats to 200°C with ±1°C control and no exhaust is listed.Plan ventilation, a drying endpoint and a temperature map of a loaded sheet.

Equipment questions

Can it replace a roll-to-roll electrode coating line?

No. This model has no unwind, web tension or rewind. It is built for sheet work in the laboratory. For a continuous pilot line, compare web coaters by oven length, residence time and roll handling, and size the line from those.
