TMAX-111A-D three-magazine pouch electrode stacker
TMAX-111A-D is a pouch electrode stacker with three hand-loaded sheet magazines, automatic alignment and servo-controlled separator feed. It takes standard sheets from 40 × 40 to 160 × 160 mm, stacks up to 100 layers or 10 mm, and TMAX aims it at solid-state battery laboratories and pilot cell work.

Three magazines, one pick-and-stack head
The operator loads sheets into three magazines by hand. The machine then aligns each sheet and picks and stacks it automatically, while servo and photoelectric elements control the separator. Ask the supplier which component goes in each magazine for your build sequence, including the first and last layers. Agree the full assembly recipe with TMAX before ordering.
Because loading is manual, settle with TMAX how sheets are oriented, how magazines are refilled, how double sheets are caught and what happens after a failed pick. Brittle, powdery or sticky sheets need special care. In a trial, watch the pickup method and check that sheets keep their coating, electrolyte layers stay whole and electrode edges stay flat.

Standard sizes and the 300 mm custom build
The standard table covers sheets from 40 × 40 to 160 × 160 mm. The introduction offers sheets up to 300 × 300 mm as a larger custom build at extra cost. If your cells go beyond the standard range, ask for a layout, an alignment specification and a separate tooling quote for that build. Choose the base machine from the standard table.
The stack can be up to 10 mm thick and up to 100 layers. Both limits apply together, so thin sheets may hit 100 layers first and thick ones may hit 10 mm first. The separator roll can be up to 250 mm outside diameter on a 3-inch core. Check separator width, thickness and tension against your electrode sizes and stack design.

Check alignment on finished stacks of your own sheets
TMAX lists stacking accuracy of ≤±0.3 mm. The page gives no measuring method, sheet stiffness range or defect rate. Set your own limits for electrode-to-electrode offset and separator overhang, then inspect several stacks built to your full layer count. Agree whether alignment is measured as each sheet is placed or on the finished stack.
The table lists 600 W, 110/220 V at 50/60 Hz, air at 0.5–0.8 MPa, a footprint of 1000 × 780 × 750 mm and a mass of 400 kg. Check floor loading, air quality and the supply voltage at your site. Solid-state work often calls for moisture control or an enclosure, so tell TMAX whether the stacker will sit in a dry room or glovebox and ask how the machine is fitted for it.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Is the stack within the standard envelope? | Standard sheets run to 160 × 160 mm; 300 × 300 mm is a custom build at extra cost. | Fix the sheet size and request custom tooling pricing if you need more than 160 mm. |
| Can the three magazines execute the required layer sequence? | The page describes three hand-loaded magazines and automatic alignment, with no fixed recipe. | Map each magazine to a component and agree the layer sequence and missed-pick recovery. |
| Will fragile sheets survive handling? | The page gives ≤±0.3 mm stacking accuracy and no data on material damage. | Run sample sheets to the full layer count and inspect the finished stacks. |
Equipment questions
Will it handle my solid electrolyte sheets?
Send TMAX sample electrolyte and electrode sheets and agree limits for cracking, shedding, sticking and alignment. Ask how the head grips, separates and releases each sheet. The solid-state label is a useful starting point. A run with your own materials shows whether the handling sequence suits them.
