Kejing organic-solvent laboratory spray dryer

The Kejing MSK-DZF-15-0S is a lab spray dryer for liquid feeds that contain organic solvent. It atomises the feed into circulating nitrogen and condenses the solvent in two stages. Feed rate is 50–2000 mL/h through a 0.7 mm two-fluid nozzle. It suits labs making small powder batches for battery materials.

Feed rate, nozzles and temperatures

Kejing lists a liquid feed of 50–2000 mL/h and a standard 0.7 mm two-fluid nozzle, with 0.5 and 1.5 mm nozzles as options. How much dry powder you get depends on the solids in the feed and on recovery. Kejing gives a drying time of 0.8–1.5 s with no material attached, so check particle dryness on your own feed.

The recommended inlet range is 30–250°C with ±0.5°C control. A 300°C upper figure also appears, but Kejing warns that running there damages the seals. Outlet temperature is listed at 30–100°C. Start a new solvent or formulation well inside these limits and raise temperature only after a trial.

BUYER NOTES

Agree the solvent operating range with Kejing

Nitrogen flow runs 0–25 L/min, with 15 L/min recommended. Kejing describes two-stage condensation and cooling, and a feed interlock that trips when oxygen rises above an adjustable threshold, set below 3%. That setting is Kejing's default, so ask what threshold suits your solvent. Ask too for the safety certification that applies to the pressure-relief design in your country.

Send the solvent name, concentration, feed properties and expected vapour load. Ask the manufacturer to write down the approved operating conditions, oxygen measurement and interlock, condenser and cooling duty, exhaust and recovery setup and installation needs for that solvent. Nitrogen generation and remote operation are optional, so list them if you want them.

BUYER NOTES

Track powder in the collector and through the system

Run a representative feed and agree which powder properties matter for your work: residual moisture or solvent, size distribution, agglomeration and usable recovery. Weigh powder left in the cyclone, chamber and filters as well as the amount collected. Kejing gives no recovery percentage for any recipe and no battery-material results.

Record feed and nozzle settings, measured temperatures and a mass balance with each accepted sample. Check cleaning and carryover after switching to a different composition, and set a maintenance plan for nozzle, filter and condenser. A good spray run is the first step; the powder still needs its own acceptance in the electrode process after drying.

Spray-dried powders are later mixed into slurry, the step covered by the slurry mixing category, and the acceptance testing page sets out a way to agree particle and moisture checks on the product. Kejing's dual-planetary mixers are the usual next step.
