Kejing dual-planetary laboratory/pilot vacuum-mixing family
Kejing builds two dual-planetary vacuum mixers for electrode slurry: the MSK-SFM-18 for the lab, with a 2 L working fill, and the MSK-SFM-9-20L-2 for pilot batches, with a 20 L fill. Both combine planetary mixing, high-speed dispersion and vacuum, but their shafts and discs differ. They suit labs moving a slurry recipe from bench to pilot scale.

Two sizes with different mixing hardware
The SFM-18 has a 2.9 L vessel, a 2 L maximum working volume and a listed minimum batch of 350 mL. It uses two twist-frame paddles, one dispersing disc and a scraper, with top speeds of 47 rpm revolution, 295 rpm mixing and 4000 rpm dispersion. The water-jacketed vessel can take optional cold or hot water.
The 20 L machine has a 25 L vessel and a 20 L working fill. It carries two mixing shafts, two dispersion shafts with four discs between them, and a removable PTFE wall scraper. It draws about 8 kW on three-phase 380 V and uses a 2XZ-2 pump; its −0.098 MPa vacuum figure applies to an empty vessel. The catalogue gives two different sets of dimensions for this machine, so ask for the current general arrangement drawing before planning the room.
| Parameter | Published value | Record status |
|---|---|---|
| SFM-18 effective fill maximum | 2 L | known |
| SFM-9-20L-2 effective fill | 20 L | known |
| Pilot stated unloaded vacuum | −0.098 MPa | known |

Scale the slurry result along with the speeds
Specify the solvent and binder, powder loading, particle properties, how viscosity is measured, the order of addition and your targets for dispersion and air removal. Disc and paddle shapes and the working fill differ between the two machines, so the same rpm gives different shear. Match the slurry properties at pilot scale and adjust speeds to reach them.
The pilot catalogue gives an application range of 1000–100000 cP with loose viscosity wording. Ask Kejing for the measurement method, temperature and the speed or torque it refers to. Temperature is read at the vessel wall, so the bulk of the batch may differ from the jacket setting. Ask for vacuum performance with a loaded vessel, the temperature history of a batch and the sampling method used to judge mixing consistency.
A past university purchase and your own trial
A public purchase record from ECUST dated 6 May 2025 shows one MSK-SFM-9-20L-2 mixer bought from Shenzhen Kejing. It confirms the model has been supplied; price and requirements in that record were for that buyer, so get a current signed specification and quotation for yours.
Watch batches at your minimum and working fill, keep the recipe and samples, and agree limits for residual material and cleaning between products. The pilot catalogue says the scraper comes out for high-viscosity work, so note which setup the trial used. Go through the lift, lid, vacuum, overcurrent and overtemperature protections using the supplier's procedures. Settle cooling, pump and cleaning responsibilities, spare seals and the finish of wetted parts before handover.
Kejing's profile lists the smaller MSK-SFM-16 for millilitre batches, the Kejing millilitre-scale mixer, and its lab coaters for the next step. Judge the slurry on a coated sample, as the coating width page explains, and agree the trial as the acceptance testing page suggests.
Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Which working fill do you need? | The vessels are 2.9 L and 25 L in total, with working fills of 2 L and 20 L. | Trial your batch size in the chosen shaft arrangement. |
| What vacuum does the loaded slurry see? | The catalogue gives −0.098 MPa for an empty pilot vessel. | Agree a loaded vacuum hold and air-removal check. |
| Which installation drawing is current? | The catalogue gives two different sets of pilot dimensions. | Get a signed layout and utility schedule. |
