Kejing MSK-AFA-EI300 intermittent transfer coater

The Kejing MSK-AFA-EI300 is a lab roll-to-roll transfer coater that lays electrode slurry continuously or in an intermittent pattern. Coating width is 50–260 mm, coated lengths run 10–5000 mm and gaps 10–500 mm. It has a single 0.8 m hot-air oven and manually set rollers and doctor blade. It suits labs making patterned electrode strips.

Coating head, pattern lengths and oven

Guide rolls are 300 mm, the foil can be up to 280 mm wide, and baffles set the coating width anywhere from 50–260 mm. Mechanical speed is 0.01–0.7 m/min. Coated length can be 10–5000 mm and the bare gap 10–500 mm. The head has a chrome-plated coating roller, an EPDM rubber roller moved by a cylinder and a hand-adjusted doctor blade.

One 0.8 m hot-air oven reaches 150°C, with ±5°C uniformity at the working positions away from the ends. That figure describes the air, and the electrode temperature comes from your trial. The machine needs AC220 V at about 5 kW and 0.5–0.8 MPa air. Solvent treatment is an option, so state in the order whether you need NMP recovery and how residual solvent will be checked.

BUYER NOTES

Getting both the coated patch and the gap right

Send the collector width and thickness, slurry composition, solids and viscosity conditions and a drawing of the coat and gap pattern. Agree roller and doctor settings and the tension and guiding setup. The baffles set the width, while edge quality and gap accuracy depend on how your slurry behaves. Kejing publishes no dry-loading tolerance for this machine.

Trial representative material at your planned web speed and oven settings. Measure coated length, gap, edge condition and dry thickness and loading against an agreed sample map. Include start-up and a controlled stop and restart if those transitions affect usable strips. Log the slurry fed and recovered in the batch record so you know the real yield.

BUYER NOTES

Set the drying end point before strips move on

Define the drying end point for your solvent and binder and the condition the next step needs, including any separate vacuum drying. Ask for the air and exhaust path, who handles solvent treatment, and how oven temperature is measured. The oven's 150°C limit tells you the ceiling; drying time and coating integrity depend on each formulation.

Handover should cover web threading, baffle and doctor adjustment, cleaning the coating path and changing film and rollers. Rolls go up to 250 mm OD on 3-inch cores. Check the incoming roll and rewind condition during the acceptance run. Kejing positions the EI300 as a lab transfer coater and gives no figures for dry-electrode yield, two-sided registration or production output.
