KD-JW gantry fibre-laser battery connection welder

Keju's KD-JW battery welder pairs a gantry worktable with a continuous fibre laser, control system and water cooling. The brochure offers 1500, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 6000 W sources, 1000/800/500 mm X/Y/Z travel, and lists tabs, busbars, terminals and battery shells as applications.

What the brochure lists

Keju's brochure image lists laser-power options of 1500, 2000, 3000, 4000 and 6000 W, a wavelength of 1080±3 nm and 10–100% power adjustment. It mentions continuous, spot and automatic wire-feed modes. Ask Keju to confirm in writing which source and modes you will receive and whether a wire feeder is included.

The table gives X/Y/Z travel of 1000/800/500 mm, water cooling and external dimensions of 1350 × 1600 × 2200 mm. Approve the fixture envelope, head movement, clamping and loading clearance for your module. The website gives no separate model number for each power level, so identify the machine in the quote by its source power and configuration.

BUYER NOTES

Five power options, one set of shared figures

Under the five power headings, the brochure gives one average output of 2000 W, a welding speed of 10 mm/s, 20 kHz modulation and total consumption of ≤12 kW. It does not say which configuration or process these shared figures belong to. Ask Keju which power option they describe and what the installed electrical load is for the option you are buying.

Get one parameter sheet for your configuration that links source power, head, operating mode, utilities and the joint you will weld. A weld speed is only part of the cycle, since path length, clamping, repositioning, inspection and operator handling all add time. Run the configured machine with your actual fixture and report good joints per full cycle.

BUYER NOTES

Connection welds and shell seals need different tests

Keju's introduction names copper and aluminium connection pieces, tabs, terminals, busbars, battery shells and polymer-to-nickel joints among its applications. Give the exact alloys, coatings, thicknesses and joint geometry, and ask Keju to weld samples of each combination you need. The brochure also promises welds free of porosity with low deformation; check both on your own samples.

For a busbar connection, agree weld sections, mechanical strength, electrical resistance and the heat and damage limits for the cells. For a shell seam, agree the required continuity and the leak-test method as separate items. Qualify each joint stack with its own recipe, since a photo of a connection fixture says nothing about sealing.

BUYER NOTES

Check protection and utilities on the machine you will get

The brochure gives an operating environment of 10–40°C and humidity of ≤90% without condensation. Check the configured laser, cooler and controls against your site, including water quality and heat rejection. The illustration shows a machine and a cooler; ask Keju to list the guarding, interlocks, fume extraction and laser protection that come with it.

Ask how the welding program is calibrated, locked against unintended changes and linked to a module identifier. If you need an MES interface or automatic weld-quality rejection, list them as deliverables in the contract, together with spare parts, training and a recorded fault and restart demonstration.

Keju's profile describes its laser-equipment background. Busbar joints welded here are checked for strength and resistance, as the acceptance testing page explains, and the cells being joined should already be sorted by voltage and resistance, which the cell measurement page describes. Compare its laser options with the ACEY LWM busbar welder on the same joint design.

Equipment questions

Why are the five power options shown on one page?

Keju presents them as one family, with a single parameter table and no separate model records. Seeing them together makes it clear which figures are shared, so you can ask Keju for the one configuration that fits your joint and get its own parameter sheet.
