Gelon GN-VM-7P three-stage vacuum slurry mixer

The Gelon GN-VM-7P is a small vacuum mixer for electrode slurry with PLC touchscreen control, forward and reverse rotation, three programmable speed stages up to 1000 rpm and a built-in vacuum generator. Vessels range from 50 to 500 ml, with one size supplied as standard. At about 40 kg it suits laboratory batches on a bench or in a glovebox.

Vessel sizes and working fills

Gelon offers nominal tanks of 50, 150, 250, 300 and 500 ml, and one of them comes as standard. The 50 ml tank holds up to 30 ml with a single paddle, the 150 ml tank 120 ml with double paddles, and the 500 ml tank 400 ml with double paddles. For the 250 and 300 ml tanks, ask Gelon for the working fill and paddle type.

You can program three speed stages, up to 1000 rpm, with mixing time from 0 to 600 minutes. Rotation runs forward and reverse, and a vacuum system is built in. The vacuum line reads equal to or greater than −70 kPa. Ask Gelon to state the gauge reference and the vacuum level actually reached with a loaded vessel.

BUYER NOTES

Build the stage recipe around your slurry

Send your formulation, solids, addition order and a viscosity figure with its measuring conditions. Agree speed, time and direction for each stage, with the usable fill, temperature and the measurements that accept a batch. Gelon describes the mixer as suited to high viscosity and bubble removal without a torque curve or temperature limit, so test your thickest slurry.

Ask for paddle geometry, wetted surfaces and seals for the vessel you choose. After the full recipe, check homogeneity and trapped gas using your own sampling method. Log the vacuum reading with its gauge reference during loaded mixing.

BUYER NOTES

Utilities and glovebox use

For glovebox work the mixer takes argon or nitrogen at 0.5–0.8 MPa, and outside a glovebox it takes compressed air. Electrical builds cover AC220 V/50 Hz and AC110 V/60 Hz. Power is 500 W, the unit measures about 350 ×330 ×590 mm and weighs about 40 kg. Confirm gas flow, vacuum exhaust and service access; the glovebox is a separate purchase.

Check that there is room to lift out the vessel and paddle as well as to fit the body. Include discharge, residue and cleaning in the mixing trial. At handover, check the delivered vessel, the stage controls, recovery from an interruption and the stored recipe. One family covers all five vessel sizes, so name your size in the order.

The coated sample shows whether the slurry is usable, as the coating width page explains, and the Gelon small-batch planetary mixer is the next size up for longer trials.
