Gelon GN-VC-15H heated vacuum-plate laboratory coater
The Gelon GN-VC-15H is a laboratory drawdown coater. A heated vacuum suction plate of 250 ×150 mm holds the foil, and a standard 150 mm blade adjusts from 0.01 to 3 mm in 0.02 mm steps. The plate heats to 100°C, with a timer for drying in place. It suits electrode formulation work on the bench or in a glovebox.

Plate, blade and heating
The vacuum suction plate has an effective area of 250 ×150 mm. The standard blade is 150 mm wide, with a gap range of 0.01–3 mm and a stated adjustment accuracy of 0.02 mm. An optional blade lets you set the coating width anywhere within 0–150 mm; order it separately if you need it. The blade figures describe the gap setting, so measure wet and dry film thickness yourself.
The plate reaches 100°C, and Gelon recommends about 80°C. A digital display controls temperature and a timer runs drying. Plate uniformity and dry-film results are not listed. The vacuum pump moves 70 L/min, power is 1700 W, and the unit measures about 580 ×420 ×385 mm and weighs about 50 kg with the pump. Ask for the holding vacuum level too, since only flow is given.

Coat with your own slurry and foil
Send the slurry chemistry, solids, a viscosity reading with its test conditions, the collector and your wet and dry targets. Agree drawdown speed, blade gap, plate temperature and how you will judge uniformity and defects. Gelon lists no travel speed range or coating tolerance. A viscometer is offered as an extra; viscosity is one of several inputs to coating quality.
Write the drying recipe and inspect the film once it is dry. Gelon mentions binder removal in general terms; binder retention and solvent removal depend on your formulation and need their own tests. Keep coating, drying and later calendering as separate acceptance steps.

Running it in a glovebox
In a glovebox the coater runs on 0.5–0.8 MPa argon or nitrogen; on an open bench it uses compressed air. Two electrical versions exist, AC220 V/50 Hz and 110 V/60 Hz. Confirm the version you want, gas flow, feedthroughs, where the pump sits and how it exhausts. The glovebox is bought separately.
Check working room and transfer openings for the 50 kg unit and its maintenance, using the body size rather than the crate. Watch the plate hold a foil, an interrupted drawdown and a cleaning and changeover. Handover should name the standard and optional blades and record a recipe that repeatably gives film meeting your inspection.
