Gelon glovebox-use cylindrical electrolyte filling module

Gelon's modular injector fills 18650 and 21700 cylindrical cells with electrolyte and is built to work inside a glovebox. It measures 3600 ×1150 ×1000 mm and runs on 220 V/50 Hz at 4 kW. Gelon lists a qualification rate of at least 99.8% and utilisation of at least 96%. It suits small cylindrical cell lines.

Injector and enclosure scope

Gelon describes a modular electrolyte injector for 18650 and 21700 cells that runs inside a glovebox. It measures 3600 ×1150 ×1000 mm and takes a 220 V/50 Hz input at 4 kW. Check those dimensions against your enclosure, its access openings and the room needed for service. Ask whether the glovebox, gas purifier and atmosphere monitor come with the injector or must be bought separately.

Dose range, metering method, pressure sequence, nozzle layout and the cell opening shapes it accepts are not listed. Send your electrolyte properties and cell drawing so Gelon can propose a filling setup. The fill recipe and wetting result then have to be proven on your cells.

BUYER NOTES

Get a clear rate figure

The table gives equipment efficiency as at least 30 PPM/min. If PPM already means pieces per minute, the extra per minute doubles the time unit, so ask Gelon for a corrected rate and how it is counted. Product qualification is listed at 99.8% or more in batch operation and utilisation at 96% or more, excluding human error. Neither figure comes with a run length or a definition of a reject.

Decide which downtime and manual steps count during acceptance. A utilisation figure that leaves out operator errors needs adjusting before any comparison with another supplier's availability. Run your own cells and electrolyte, record accepted fills, and note how setup, refilling and glovebox access cut into steady output.

BUYER NOTES

A dose you can check and a layout you can service

State the electrolyte mass you need, the allowed variation and how you will measure it. Ask about calibration, temperature and density correction if the pump meters volume, nozzle drips and material compatibility. Plan separate checks for dose accuracy and electrode wetting, since a correct dose can still leave dry spots.

For the glovebox, request a layout showing feedthroughs, access, spill collection and service tasks against your atmosphere requirements. Interrupt a dose and reject a cell during the trial to see that recovery keeps track of each part. At handover, get the written recipe and maintenance method for the exact injector and enclosure you receive.

Gelon's profile lists the case grooving and cap welding machines used around this module, and the electrode drying page explains why the glovebox atmosphere matters.

Still to confirm

  • Whether the glovebox, purifier and atmosphere monitoring are included, and the moisture limit supported.
  • The dose range, metering method and dose tolerance.
  • The correct output rate in place of 30 PPM/min and how it is counted.
  • How the 99.8% qualification and 96% utilisation figures were measured.
