Gelon desktop stepper-controlled cylindrical electrolyte filler

Gelon's desktop filler doses electrolyte into cylindrical cells through an injection pump with an internal stepper motor, set from a control console. It covers 18650, 21700, 26650 and 32650 formats with a 0–7.2 ml range and listed ±1% precision, in single or double head form. It suits laboratory and small-batch cell building.

Console, stepper pump and head options

Gelon sells this as 18650 single or double head filling equipment, so choose the head count when you order. A console sets volume and speed, and the injection pump runs from a stepper motor. Listed formats are 18650, 21700, 26650 and 32650, the dose range is 0–7.2 ml, and one battery takes about one minute. Ask for the cell opening and tooling drawing for your format.

Precision is printed as ±1% with no statement of whether it refers to full scale or the set dose. Power is written as 220 V, which gives the voltage only. Air is listed at 75 PSI, and the customer supplies both vacuum and compressed air. Confirm the nozzle and pump setup, the electrical load and the vacuum level needed.

BUYER NOTES

Check delivered dose against a scale

Send the electrolyte composition, its density at a stated temperature, its viscosity and your target quantity. Ask how a stepper setting turns into delivered volume and how calibration covers your working dose, beyond the ends of the range. Very small doses near the 0 ml end of the range need their own check.

Agree measurement uncertainty, the number of repeat samples and the density conversion if you weigh the dose. Watch for drips, leftover liquid and priming and refill behaviour on the actual pump and nozzle. Ask for the wetted materials and solvent compatibility, which are not listed. Accurate dosing is one step; electrode wetting depends on your cell and process.

BUYER NOTES

Plan the whole fill, utilities included

A double head is its own configuration, and output may not double, so ask whether the two heads dispense together or in turn. Find out the operator steps and how the one-minute figure is counted. A fair trial includes placing the cell, completing the fill and taking it out.

Get the vacuum and air quality and flow, plus collection and cleaning arrangements, from the supplier documents. No vacuum pressure is given. Interrupt a dose, provoke an out-of-limit result and watch recovery after a refill. At handover, record the head, nozzle, calibration and utilities used for the accepted dose records. This is a desktop tool for manual filling work.

Cells must be dry before filling, which the electrode drying page explains, and the formation and capacity grading page covers the first charge after sealing.
