Geesun GLC electrode coating-pattern laser-cleaning family
The Geesun GLC uses a laser to remove coating from calendered or uncalendered electrode rolls, leaving patterned bare areas. The negative version takes 35–160 mm rolls at ≥20 ppm; the positive version takes 300–650 mm rolls at ≥72 ppm. Both list ≤±0.3 mm cleaning accuracy and suit tab and welding-area preparation.
Negative and positive electrode versions
For negative electrodes, Geesun lists a roll width of 35–160 mm with 0.2 mm tolerance,650 mm maximum outer diameter and a 3-inch core. For positive electrodes it lists 300–650 mm width with 0.2 mm tolerance,700 mm outer diameter and a 3- or 6-inch core. Both versions handle piece lengths of 200–2000 mm. Each version has its own limits, so choose one against your roll drawing.
Cleaning accuracy is≤±0.3 mm on both. Front-to-back offset is≤±0.3 mm on the negative version and≤±0.5 mm on the positive. The rates are≥20 and≥72 ppm, each at a 10×30 cleaning size with no unit given. Ask Geesun for the pattern, the number of cleaned areas and how pieces are counted before comparing throughput. The page describes a high-power laser and fast scanner; ask for the wavelength and optical power too.

Catalogue values apply to the configuration and test method the maker states. Ask for the values that apply to your configuration.

Cleaned area, residue and collector condition
Send the collector metal and thickness, coating formula and loading, calendered state and the pattern drawing. Agree what counts as full coating removal, how much residue is acceptable and what damage to the collector is allowed. The page sets no residue level, collector-thinning limit or electrical value after cleaning, so request trial samples and inspect them with a method suited to your joining or cell process.
Check front-to-back pattern position on your own roll. Geesun describes several web-guiding stages and segmented tension control, with buffered independent stations. Ask where the sensors sit, the tension ranges and how registration recovers after a splice or upset. Pattern quality on a new material comes from the trial samples.
Fume extraction, inspection and the acceptance run
The proposal should cover fume and dust extraction, handling of collected particles, access to the optics for maintenance and the inspection sampling plan. Judge the cleaned electrode on agreed residue, dimension and collector limits as well as the look of the bare metal. Geesun's tab-forming machine has its own heat-affected-zone and burr figures; set separate limits for this cleaning process.
Watch a representative production run, a planned stop and restart and any splice or format change, then measure the same limits on all samples. Log incoming material, pattern, speed and rejects next to the results. At handover, record the version delivered, fixtures, recipe revision, maintenance and lock-out procedures and buffering to the neighbouring machines. The catalogue ppm rates are Geesun's figures, and the run gives your good-electrode output.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Which feed configuration matches the electrode? | The negative version takes 35–160 mm rolls and the positive version 300–650 mm rolls, with different offsets. | Pick one version and sign it off against your roll drawing. |
| What is an acceptable cleaned pattern? | The page gives no residue or collector-damage limits. | Define the pattern and inspect trial samples of your electrode. |
| Does the conditional rate apply to the required pattern? | The rates of ≥20 and ≥72 ppm are given at a 10×30 cleaning size. | Get the unit and counting rule, then time a run on your pattern. |
