AOT SY300J three-roll intermittent laboratory coater
The AOT SY300J is a three-roll transfer coater with a comma blade for laboratory and pilot electrode coating. It runs continuous or intermittent patterns, with servo tension, photoelectric web guiding, servo unwinding and rewinding, and a hot-air oven that blows from top and bottom.

Transfer head and comma metering
AOT pairs a three-roll transfer head with a comma blade and a fine adjustment mechanism. This head works differently from a slot die, so send AOT your slurry rheology, solids content, substrate and target coating, and ask how metering, transfer and film formation behave on that slurry. The coating roller is hard-chrome plated and the backup roller is clad in EPDM. Ask for solvent compatibility and cleaning limits for both.
The coater runs in continuous or intermittent mode. Draw the coated segment, the uncoated gap and the transitions you need, then measure leading and trailing edges on your own foil in a trial. AOT gives no figure for segment registration or coating thickness tolerance. The coating width is also absent, so ask AOT to state it in the quotation.

Catalogue values apply to the configuration and test method the maker states. Ask for the values that apply to your configuration.

Web handling and drying capacity
AOT lists servo tension control, photoelectric web-guide correction and servo unwinding and rewinding. Ranges are not given for tension, guide accuracy or roll size. Agree the foil core size, roll mass, web path and how tension will be measured, then check winding alignment and foil handling at your trial speed.
The oven dries with hot air from above and below. Its length, number of zones, temperature, exhaust rate and solvent capacity are not listed on the model page. A solvent-recovery unit is optional. Size drying and exhaust from your wet film and solvent load, and check residual solvent and coating condition, because dry-electrode output depends on the oven as much as on web speed.

Fix the component list before ordering
The page offers OMRON or Panasonic for the PLC, Yaskawa or Panasonic for the servos, Weinview for the touchscreen, and NSK or NTN for the coating-head bearings. Ask for a fixed bill of materials naming the brands in your machine, plus a software backup and a spares list. If the coater must talk to a factory MES, specify that interface separately.
AOT presents the SY300J for several secondary-battery development uses and says its precision approaches production equipment. Ask for a trial report on your slurry covering cross-web coat weight, intermittent transitions, drying result, waste, and cleaning and changeover time. Use those measured results for your own planning once the demonstration is accepted.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Does transfer coating fit this slurry? | The head uses three-roll transfer with comma-blade metering. | Run a trial on your slurry and inspect the film and segment transitions. |
| What limits the usable coating speed? | The page describes top-and-bottom hot air but lists no oven length, zones or exhaust rate. | Agree drying, exhaust and residual-solvent acceptance before setting output. |
| Which components will be delivered? | The page offers alternative PLC, servo and bearing brands. | Fix the bill of materials and the software and service scope. |
