N20 nano bead mill

The RUCCA N20 is a nano bead mill with a 35 L grinding chamber, 20 L effective volume and a 30 kW motor, rated for 500–1500 L processing batches. It uses centrifugal bead separation with media from 0.1 mm, suiting fine grinding and dispersion of battery materials once a slurry trial sets time and particle size.

N20 chamber, motor and cooling figures

The N20 row lists a 35 L full grinding-chamber volume, 20 L effective volume, 30 kW motor and a processing-batch reference of 500–1500 L. It also gives 2,000 L/h of cooling water and a maximum line speed of 14 m/s. Each figure measures something different, and none of them is an hourly output.

The series uses centrifugal separation, media of 0.1 mm and above, and internal and external cooling. Ask RUCCA to name the media, wetted materials, seals and cooling conditions it proposes for your battery slurry. The word nano in the series name describes the class of mill; your final particle size comes from the trial.

BUYER NOTES

Plan the trial around dispersion, heat and contamination

Send the incoming particle distribution, solids, viscosity and target distribution, with the measuring method. Log temperature rise and either the number of passes or the circulation time. Check whether milling changes the material in ways your formulation cannot accept.

Ask how wear and bead separation are checked and how the mill is cleaned between formulations. The 500–1500 L batch figure carries no processing time. Run a full batch trial before you estimate hourly output or running cost.

BUYER NOTES

Qualify the milling with particle results and wear checks

Agree a typical slurry, bead set-up and particle-size method with RUCCA. Fix the starting condition and the endpoint you need before the run, and tie each sample to its pass count or run time. Log temperature and usable output with every particle result. One pass of a large batch through the mill tells you little; the distribution reached at each stage tells you what you need.

Ask for the bead-separation arrangement, wetted materials and maintenance access of the quoted configuration. Discuss wear and contamination checks that suit your product, since chamber size says nothing about material compatibility. Measure the slurry left behind and the cleaning losses after discharge. Compare the cooling demand with its stated duty and the services available on your site. Use the results to set the grinding capacity you will write into the order.

A public listing and a grinding trial answer different questions

Shanghai's proposed-recognition list carries an exact match for the company behind RUCCA. That listing is background on the business. Particle-size distribution, contamination and cleaning results for this N-series mill come from trial samples made with the proposed media and wetted materials, using a sampling method agreed in advance.

Milled material normally goes on to a planetary mixer and then to coating, so plan the trial with the TOB vacuum planetary mixer or a similar machine and judge the result on a coated sample, as the page on coating, web and roller widths suggests.

CLEAR UP THE DETAIL

Equipment questions

Is the N20 a 20 L batch mixer?

No. Twenty litres is the effective grinding volume. The processing batch is a separate figure, and the time it takes depends on your material and target size.

Source s2
Does the 14 m/s figure promise a particle size?

No. It is the top machine setting. Your final distribution is measured under agreed media, slurry, temperature and processing conditions.
