Kejing MSK-SFM-11 V-vessel dry-powder blender

The Kejing MSK-SFM-11 blends dry powders and granules by tumbling them in an unequal-height V-shaped vessel. The standard 2.5 L vessel typically holds 1000 g and turns at 20–90 rpm on a 24 V DC drive that can run inside an argon or nitrogen glovebox. It suits labs pre-mixing battery powders before further processing.

Vessel sizes, speed and drive

Kejing lists a 2.5 L vessel that typically holds 1000 g of powder or granules, a speed of 20–90 rpm and a timer of 1–900 minutes. Smaller optional vessels hold 50 mL/20 g and 250 mL/100 g. The mass that tumbles well in practice depends on bulk density and fill fraction, so treat these masses as typical examples and check your own material.

The vessel is stainless steel with a 2.5-inch clamp-style feed port. A 110–240 V AC to 24 V DC adaptor powers the motor, and Kejing describes use in argon or nitrogen gloveboxes. Ask for oxygen and moisture limits and for approval to handle any reactive powder you plan to use.

BUYER NOTES

Sample the whole blend

Send the powder types, size distributions, bulk densities, moisture sensitivity and any concerns about agglomerates. Agree the vessel fill and the charging order. Tumbling moves free-flowing powder around well; Kejing gives no figure for blend uniformity or for breaking up agglomerates.

Set sampling positions or discharge fractions and the analysis you will use to compare blend composition. Check for segregation after a stop, a transfer or discharge, because a mix that looks even can still vary. Kejing lists optional balls in several materials. If you plan to use them, define what they are for and set wear and contamination limits; results from high-energy ball milling are a different process, so compare like with like.

BUYER NOTES

Glovebox fit and cleaning

Use the real machine and vessel dimensions to check your glovebox door or antechamber, working space, rotating clearance and the feed and discharge route. The machine is about 550×270×550 mm and 45 kg, which may be too large for some transfer chambers. Decide where the power adaptor sits and ask the manufacturer for its recommended safe drive layout.

Agree how leftover powder is recovered, how the vessel is cleaned between formulations and how carryover is checked. Ask about seals, clamp maintenance and safe access to the rotating vessel. Base acceptance on the chosen vessel, the fill and a measured blend result. Timer and speed settings alone tell you little about powder uniformity or later cell results.
