Prismatic Cell Winding Machine

The Han's SLE Prismatic Cell Winding Machine winds positive and negative electrodes with separator into a prismatic core. It takes incoming rolls up to 800 mm, is rated at six pieces per minute on 16 m electrodes, and gives separate overhang, tab and tension tolerances.

What the winder does and what it lists

This machine winds positive and negative electrodes and separator into a prismatic core. It accepts incoming rolls up to 800 mm in diameter on a six-inch core. That figure applies to the unwinders; it tells you nothing about the width or height of the finished cell.

Han's SLE gives an efficiency of six pieces per minute at a 16 m electrode length. Keep that length in mind when comparing output with other winders. The page also lists overhang alignment within ±0.3 mm, tab alignment within ±3 mm and winding-tension fluctuation of ±3%. Each is a separate check, and tab alignment says nothing about electrode-to-separator overhang.

The listing describes closed-loop product inspection without naming every measured feature, record field or reject action. Ask for the inspection configuration you would receive and have Han's SLE show how a failed inspection affects unloading and product identification.

BUYER NOTES

What to send before a trial

Send electrode, separator and tab drawings, the build of your material rolls and the core geometry you want. Mark the dimensions that define acceptable overhang and where they are measured. Ask for trial records covering startup, steady winding and a roll change.

If you plan several product variants, ask for the tooling and programme changes each one needs. The incoming-roll limit covers the unwinders only, so confirm that each finished-core combination you plan can run. Ask how the inspection function has been qualified on a process like yours.

Documents to ask for

Han's SLE's official pages present the brand, the legal name and this machine. Ask for test records behind the yield and failure rates it advertises. Request the company registration details, current compliance documents and any equipment or media approvals for your order.

BUYER NOTES

Settle the overhang figure before the trial

Han's SLE's public material shows more than one overhang figure. Before planning a trial, ask for a single controlled drawing that shows where overhang is measured and how each tolerance applies. Keep the differing figures on your clarification list until the supplier settles them in writing, and use the confirmed figure in any comparison sheet.

Run your own electrode and separator materials through normal operation, stops and restarts, and any planned splice or material change. Label each sample so the winding settings can be traced to the inspected core. Agree how misalignment, wrinkles and damaged material are counted and how rejected cores leave the machine. The trial record should show good cores as well as total cycles. Put the tolerance values and test length for your configuration in a written agreement.

BUYER NOTES

The group report and the winding trial

The Han's Laser statutory report gives the legal name of the Han's SLE company. Separator tracking, electrode overhang and core geometry have to be tested on the machine itself. Tie the quotation and acceptance record to the legal entity that supplies the winder, and ask for a trial on your material rolls and finished-core variants.

CLEAR UP THE DETAIL

Equipment questions

Is the 800 mm value a finished-cell dimension?

No. It is the largest incoming roll diameter on the stated core. Ask for the finished-core size range as a separate item in the quotation.

Why are two alignment values shown?

Overhang alignment and tab alignment measure different things. Put both on the drawing, each with its own inspection limit.
