Courage KRZ-A10 cylindrical voltage and AC-resistance sorter

The Courage KRZ-A10 sorts cylindrical cells by voltage and AC internal resistance. The table lists ten grades plus an NG grade, a maximum rate of about 4800 pieces/hour, ±0.5% IR accuracy and ±0.05% voltage accuracy. It suits incoming-cell matching ahead of module and pack assembly.

Ten output grades, one NG bin and about 4800 cells an hour

Courage gives the KRZ-A10 ten sorting grades and a separate NG grade, although the product title mentions only ten grades. The maker calls the machine general-purpose for cylindrical cells. Send the diameter, length, terminal shape and orientation of your cell so the factory can quote the right feed tooling, receiving channels and bin capacity.

The catalogue gives a maximum rate of approximately 4800 pieces/hour and a utilisation of at least 95%. At acceptance, run refills, jams, full bins, retests and cells that fail to make good contact. Count the cells that reach the correct bin with a valid result; that figure is your real output.

BUYER NOTES

Measurement figures for resistance and voltage

For internal resistance the catalogue lists accuracy of ±0.5% of reading, a display resolution of 0.01 mΩ and repeat error below 1 mΩ, measured with AC. For voltage it lists ±0.05% of reading, 0.1 mV resolution and repeat error below 1 mV. Ask for the installed tester model, the AC frequency, the full ranges and the conditions behind each figure. Resolution and repeatability are separate numbers from accuracy.

Agree the probe arrangement, how fixture wear is checked, the rest time, the state of charge and the cell temperature at test. Set your grading bands after a trial on your own process. The machine measures voltage and AC resistance only. If your matching rules also use capacity, self-discharge or DC resistance, plan another station or test for those values.

BUYER NOTES

Bin routing, cell records and utilities

Run sample cells that sit right at your grade limits, plus cells with poor contact or failed readings. Each cell should land in the bin the software assigned, and a retest should keep a clear record of both results. Barcode reading, MES links and cell-ID mapping are described for the PACK line, not for this standalone sorter, so ask Courage to quote them for this model if you need them.

The table gives 220 V ±10%, 50 Hz, compressed air at 0.4–0.6 MPa, a footprint of 1530 ×700 ×1350 mm and a weight of about 210 kg. Request the connected power, air consumption, tester calibration and service terms, and the list of supplied components. The product photo shows a catalogue build; plan a rate and measurement trial on your own cells.

Courage's profile lists the insulation and welding stations that follow sorting.

Questions that change the purchase

DecisionWhat the catalogue saysNext step
Which cell format uses the quoted feed tooling? The catalogue calls the model general-purpose for cylindrical cells and gives no size range.Send your cell diameter, length and orientation and approve the receiving channels.
What precision governs the grade boundaries? The catalogue gives separate accuracy, display resolution and repeat-error figures.Confirm the tester and test conditions, then trial cells at your grade limits.
How is the physical cell linked to the result?Barcode and MES functions are listed for the pack line, not for this sorter.Specify cell identity, retest handling and the record format in the quotation.

Still to confirm

  • The cylindrical cell sizes the quoted feed tooling and channels will handle.
  • The installed tester model, AC frequency, ranges and contact arrangement.
  • Whether barcode reading, cell-ID mapping and MES upload are included with this model.
  • The good-result output rate on your cells at your grade limits.
