AOT-listed MSK-HRP-04 heated electrode sheet calender

AOT lists the MSK-HRP-04 as a bench heated roll press for thin electrodes and soft materials. It has a 200 mm effective roller width, two separately heated rollers up to 200°C and an adjustable 0–1.2 mm gap, and suits laboratory calendering trials on coated foil.

Hot gap and cold gap are different settings

The hard-chrome-plated rollers measure 96 mm in diameter and 220 mm wide, with a 200 mm effective width. The gap adjusts from 0 to 1.2 mm. AOT gives a gap tolerance of 0.008–0.01 mm from room temperature to 100°C, 0.02–0.03 mm at 100–150°C and 0.03–0.05 mm at 150–200°C. Set and measure the working gap once the rollers have reached operating temperature.

A mechanical dial with a 0–3 mm range and 0.01 mm accuracy comes with the press. A digital micrometer rated at 0.004 mm costs extra. Neither cancels thermal drift, so measure finished electrode thickness directly. After rolling, check thickness, density, adhesion and surface damage on your own coated foil; the catalogue's example reductions apply to the samples AOT used.

BUYER NOTES

Heating control and sheet or web feeding

Two programmable controllers heat the rollers separately, up to 200°C at a stated ±5°C. Each heater is 1000 W. AOT notes that roller surface temperature can differ from the display, so include a surface-temperature reading in acceptance. The recommended heating rate is 1.3°C/min; agree a warm-up and settling routine for the installed press.

Roller speed runs 0–26 mm/s from a 100 W drive. A 200 mm roll-to-roll attachment and a vertical rolling position are optional or custom. Decide whether you need sheet feeding only, or unwinding, rewinding and tension control as well, and list it on the order. Power is single-phase 208–240 V, 50/60 Hz, 2000 W. The plug is not supplied, and a 110 V transformer is extra.

BUYER NOTES

Maker identity and material limits

Notes on the AOT page mention MTI engineers and MTI products. Before buying, ask AOT who actually builds the press, what the nameplate will show, who gives the warranty, which spare parts fit, and for a copy of the manual. AOT mentions CE marking; request the conformity file for this model.

AOT excludes thick metal and materials harder than 45 HRC. The page mentions argon use and also bans hazardous Class I locations, so keep flammable gas and vapour away from the press. Ask for the operating limits and guards for your material. The page gives no rolling-force rating and no electrode yield; establish both in your own rolling trial.

Pressed sheets are usually vacuum-dried before assembly, as the electrode drying page explains.
