AOT-PVM-10L Double Planetary Mixer

The AOT-PVM-10L is a double planetary mixer for laboratory and pilot electrode slurry. It has a 14 L design vessel with 10 L effective volume, revolution of 0–50 rpm, rotation of 0–100 rpm, a rotary-vane vacuum pump and electric lifting, and suits medium- to high-viscosity mixtures.

AOT-PVM-10L: a ten-litre effective volume

AOT lists a 14 L design vessel with 10 L effective volume. The machine combines planetary stirring and dispersion for medium- to high-viscosity mixtures. Revolution runs at 0–50 rpm and rotation at 0–100 rpm. Keep both figures in view when comparing how the mixing tools move, since a single speed headline misses half the action.

The material-contact vessel layers and the two twist-type mixing blades are 304 stainless steel. The listed package includes a rotary-vane vacuum pump, a vacuum buffer and electric lifting. Ask which wetted seals, discharge fittings and external temperature-control items come with your configuration.

Lifting and mixing are interlocked. The mixer will not stir while the vessel rises, and the vessel cannot be raised or opened during mixing. Ask AOT to show both responses on the controls you are buying, and plan the safety assessment of the full laboratory installation as your own step.

BUYER NOTES

Cleaning and discharge are part of formulation work

The product page describes a bottom discharge valve, smooth contact surfaces and construction that opens for cleaning. For formulation work, ask how much slurry stays behind after discharge and which parts come off between batches. Agree which cleaning fluids the wetted parts tolerate, and check how much of a representative batch actually reaches the coater.

For a trial, send AOT your solids content, viscosity range and addition order. Log the revolution and rotation settings and the temperature history. Dispersion quality for your formulation comes from that trial, since geometry and motor data alone cannot predict it.

BUYER NOTES

Cooling connections and blade clearances

The updated table gives an internal vessel of 300 mm diameter by 200 mm, inner and outer SUS304 layers of 5 mm and 4 mm, and DN25 quick connections for cooling-water inlet and outlet. No heat-removal duty or cooling flow is listed. Specify your chilled-water supply and log slurry temperature through a representative mixing sequence.

Blade-to-blade, blade-to-bottom and blade-to-wall clearances are each given as an optional reference of 5 ±2.5 mm. Ask for the delivered tool geometry and tolerances that suit your formulation. The mixing motor is rated 2.2 kW. If you need high-speed dispersion under load, request the exact dispersing assembly and control setup in the quotation.

Pump, discharge recovery and vessel access

The table specifies a 0.55 kW rotary-vane pump with a vacuum buffer and a DN32 bottom valve. It gives no loaded vacuum level or leak rate. Ask for the pressure reference, the gauge and the pumping sequence, then check air removal and the recovered slurry mass on your real working charge.

Electric screw lifting has its own 0.55 kW drive, a lifting height up to 300 mm, and positioning and locking. The page says the lift stops at its travel limits, mixing is blocked while lifting, and the vessel stays closed while running. Installation figures are 380 V three-phase 50 Hz, about 3 kW total, 1400 ×810 ×1700 mm and approximately 800 kg. Leave room for service and for the raised vessel, beyond the closed footprint.

About the published citation

A published study names the AOT battery-equipment company as its supplier of sodium chips. It is a materials purchase and says nothing about this mixer. Ask AOT for the actual maker of the quoted unit and its current compliance documents.

BUYER NOTES

Record discharge yield and cleaning with the mixing result

Agree a working charge inside the 10 L effective volume, with the formulation, addition order and mixing endpoints set by your process. The 14 L figure is the vessel's design size. Ask for a trial record that names the vessel, tools, vacuum setup and settings.

After the trial, weigh the usable slurry that discharges and note what stays on the tools, seals and fittings. Where contamination matters, include cleaning access and a repeat batch. Your trial is the only source for dispersion, vacuum and cleaning results on this machine.

A ten-litre batch goes straight to coating, so read the coating width page alongside this one when you plan the trial.

CLEAR UP THE DETAIL

Equipment questions

Is the design vessel size the usable batch size?

No. The vessel is 14 L by design and 10 L effective. Plan your working charge and addition sequence against the 10 L figure.

Do the lifting interlocks cover laboratory safety?

They are machine functions that AOT describes. Test them at acceptance, and assess the wider installation's safety requirements on their own terms.
