Battery-grade iron phosphate drying and calcination system
FANQUN's battery-grade iron phosphate system takes paste, slurry or filter cake through rotary flash drying, rotary kiln calcination and cooling before packaging. It is a powder-production line for cathode precursor plants, with separate feed and quality duties at each stage.

How the material moves through the line
FANQUN describes rotary flash drying for paste, slurry and filter-cake feeds. A classifier in the dryer sends coarse or still-damp material back, while dried powder goes on to gas-solid separation and is then metered into a rotary kiln for further drying and calcination.
After the kiln the powder passes through cooling equipment and on to packaging. FANQUN also describes process-air and exhaust handling, with dust collection and a spray tower. The material and gas paths are linked throughout, which makes this a continuous powder line with no relation to a high-vacuum oven for assembled cells.
The catalogue gives no feed moisture, output rate, kiln temperature or final powder specification. Ask FANQUN for those values together with a mass and heat balance for your iron-phosphate feed.
| Parameter | Published value | Record status |
|---|---|---|
| Drying route | Rotary flash drying | known |
| Thermal follow-on | Rotary-kiln calcination | known |
| Feed forms | Paste, slurry and filter-cake material | known |
Catalogue values apply to the configuration and test method the maker states. Ask for the values that apply to your configuration.

Accept the powder and the exhaust side together
Send the feed form, moisture, particle distribution, required thermal treatment and final product criteria. Agree where powder is sampled after calcination and after cooling, and how dust caught at each point is treated or returned to the line.
Settle who is responsible for gas treatment, and check utilities, equipment materials and maintenance access. A good trial links the feed quantity and thermal history to measurements on the finished material. Ask for material performance results and process permits as separate documents.

Quality checkpoints between the thermal stages
Share representative feed data and state the material condition you need after drying, after calcining and after cooling. Ask the supplier to give each unit operation its own incoming and outgoing duty, in place of one output figure for the whole route. Your process specialists should set the quality measurements and allowed conditions for your material.
During a trial run with FANQUN's agreement, label every sample with its stage, feed condition and operating history. Compare usable output and the agreed moisture or quality results at each checkpoint. Use the chosen plant drawing to locate transfer losses and to assign emissions, heat recovery and downstream storage. At handover, ask for current process and maintenance documents. Treat this plan as a powder-production exercise for iron phosphate; cell-oven drying recipes and other machines on the route need their own checks.
The finished cathode material is later mixed into electrode slurry, which the slurry mixing category covers, and the RFQ guide shows how to frame moisture and contamination questions for a dryer.

Questions that change the purchase
| Decision | What the catalogue says | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Which operation is actually needed? | The catalogue describes drying, calcining and cooling as separate stages. | Define the feed condition, target material state and the upstream and downstream limits. |
| What quality result must the trial record? | The catalogue gives no final powder properties. | Agree moisture and material-quality checks using representative feed samples. |
Equipment questions
Can this route be used as a cell-drying oven specification?
No. It handles drying and calcination of powder upstream of the cell plant. Removing moisture from electrodes and cells calls for different equipment.
Source s2Is a battery-grade final result shown with test data?
No material trial results come with the listing. Agree the final chemistry, moisture and particle criteria, then ask for measured results on your own feed.
